Pretty nice bottle for the price
I try to drink a lot of water throughout the day. I usually carry an uninsulated 64 oz. Kleen Kanteen with me to work every day and have no trouble emptying it. This wasn’t enough, however, and I would get thirsty by the end of the day. I decided that I needed to drink a full gallon every day to ward off thirst and to account what I lose during exercise, etc. This jug was my solution. I waited until Prime Days and then searched for a gallon water jug. I tried to strike a balance between low price and good reviews. This jug was the most economical option that had consistently high reviews, and a lot of them mentioned how durable it was. OK, I’m sold.A lot of reviews mentioned the size. Yep, it’s huge, and full of water it weighs about 12 lbs. according to another reviewer that actually weighed it. It takes both hands to drink out of this thing. For me, the size is the only thing that I’m on the fence about. I’m still trying to decide if carrying a full gallon is a better option than refilling my 2-quart Kleen Kanteen at work. It’s certainly no fault of the jug– a gallon-sized container is going to be bigger than a 2-quart container no matter what– but it is a consideration if you have to lug this thing around. I certainly feel the weight and, while it’s not a deal breaker for me, it’s certainly something to consider.I’m trying to avoid abusing it, so far durability seems good. I toss it into my large rucksack with a Stanley steel lunchbox, and so far the powdercoated finish has zero scratches on it. I was leery of the handle being screwed into the plastic cap, but the whole thing feels very sturdy. I don’t swing it like a kettlebell or anything, but the plastic cap seems to have no trouble standing up to the weight of this thing, which was my main concern. The cap seals tight. The jug is so large that I have to lay it sideways in my rucksack. Not a drop has leaked so far despite being jostled on its side while I ride my motorcycle, walk up and down stairs, etc.I haven’t tried it with warm liquids, but it keeps water cool all day. I fill it with tap water in the morning and it stays about the same temperature. When summer comes, I’ll fill it with ice water and see, but from other reviews I expect that the insulation will work just fine. One other thing: I fill mine in the sink because it doesn’t fit in my refrigerator’s water dispenser. That means I fill it with regular tap water instead of my fridge’s cold, filtered water. The tap water in my area is pretty good (water quality reports from the local water company shows almost no detectable contaminants and the taste is fine) so I don’t mind. However, if you want to fill yours with filtered water, you’re either going to be standing at your fridge forever waiting for this thing to fill up, or you’re going to want to invest in an auxiliary filter for your sink.I paid less than $35 for this jug when I bought it, and at that price the value is excellent. As of January 2025, it’s hovering around the $40 mark, which is still a good price for a gallon jug of this quality. So far I’m very happy with mine. If there’s anything to report in the future, I’ll update this review.

Keeps ice good and the price is just right
I have not really tested this outside except for times I could not go directly to work and the car was hot. Those few times it did take me at least 2 hours to get to my home base, the ice was fine, in fact I donât remember it mattering at all. In those cases which were rare, the temps outside varied since I have had this cooler long enough to experience both hot and cold in my car. Just wanted to make that clear since most will likely want it to use it outside in the heat.I bought this to keep ice in a cooler. I have provided pictures for context. I donât work in a typical office, more like a mobile office with no facilities so I keep this under my desk. The cooler I have is electric, and can be a freezer or a refrigerator but not both. I like ice with my beverages so I decided to figure out a way to keep ice for longer than a day. It was getting to be a pain to bring a thermos with only ice every day. The Yeti cooler that is similar to this is $150 (yikes!) and in my experience although Yeti is good, youâre paying for a name. Iâve never cared about status like that so I was looking for something more economical that works just as good. Iâll only buy a name brand if I canât find something that is on par with its quality. But I do think I found it in this cooler, at least for what I was needing it for. Monday I will fill it all the way up with those large cubes, bring it to work which takes me about 35 minutes then Iâll put it in my camping cooler at around 39-41 degrees. The only way I have to fill it up sooner is if I run out before Friday. Thatâs happened during the hotter months when I drink more but now that itâs winter it actually stays the entire week. It keeps the ice for that long. Not perfect, it does start to melt around Wednesday but because the cubes are large, I havenât found it to be a problem. They are still in pretty good shape. It lasts through Friday which helps me to limit how often I have to refill it which is exactly what I wanted.
