BEST LEASH EVER
I’ve got a 55lb dog that is strong like a bull and she killed the retraction mechanism in her last leash and, in the end, snapped it right off when she saw a squirrel. I’m short and have small hands so a lot of the leashes built for dogs her size are hard for me to handle. Not this one! It’s so much lighter than her last leash and the retraction mechanism is SO SMOOTH. I also love that there is a lower band inside the hand-hold that you can adjust up or down to better fit your hand. It’s comfortable, strong and very responsive. I could not be happier!

Great, comfortable leash
I love this leash! I had one previously that my puppy chewed through and this was a replacement (I did try an anti-chew spray, but no joy). I like the handy box that attaches for poop bags (the old one fitted on the new model perfectly). It’s comfortable to hold, a good length and pretty strong (I definitely prefer the tape to the cord – less risk of ‘rope burn’ or losing a finger too). I don’t want it to get shredded, so I bought an inexpensive leash extender (that lights up!) to bear the brunt of the puppy teeth until she’s old enough to not chew. The locking mechanism is a lot more user friendly than on other leashes I’ve tried. As I use this every day, multiple times a day, I think it’s worth spending the money on the real deal rather than an off-brand copy. Our old leash lasted for multiple years and would have gone on just fine if it weren’t for the chewing. I’d definitely recommend this leash.

Best leash I have ever owned
I have had a dog literally my whole life. I really canât even quantify the number of leashes I have owned and purchased over the years, but needless to say it has been a lot. Out of all the brands I have used, Flexi is truly hands down the best leash I have ever owned. My current dog is a 85 pound Red Nose American Staffordshire terrier, who has broken not one but two leashes after seeing a squirrel or something and taking off running. The actual rope part of the leash snapped in two, I didnât even know that could happen. Since using Flexi I am yet to have any leash malfunctions. The leash extends and retracts so incredibly smooth, I mean thereâs no comparison. The button to stop the leash from extending works on a dime with little effort, even with an 85 pound dog pulling in the opposite direction. I also have relatively small hands, so I really love the adjustable grip they offer. It not only makes holding the leash so much more comfortable, but allows for much easier and less awkward access to the stop button. While the price of their leashes is a bit more expensive than other brands, it is totally worth it!

Highly recommend : look no further
I’ve gone through so many retractable leashes. Flexi is the best designed and well made. Tape is gentle on skin when it rubs on bare legs. Rubberized handle doesn’t slip out of gloved hand. Handlenis large enough for hand with thick gloves in Winter.(I have small hands). I’ve had this none 6 months. Still in good condition. The stop button for tape is a bit small, but well designed. Easy amd intuitive to use. Just push forward to stop/lock. Pull back to release. Easy to use with thick gloves on.None of the other brands I have tried meet all of these criteria.I have and energic, 40lb dog who makes sudden lunges, pulling on the leash. The leash is holding up well.I just ordered a smaller one for my puggle.I highly recommend this leash

Good retractable leash
I like the handle was big enough for my whole hand, even wearing gloves. I did not like the spring winder to recoil the leash does not feel like good quality. And I would like to see the next model have a bigger clasp to attach to harnesses with 2 thicker d-rings.

LOVE THIS LEASH!!
Has adjustable grip for smaller hands. Has place for treat holder or poop bag holder (both sold separately). Very light weight and well made

Excellent right up until it snapped
Let me start off by saying that the Flexi Classic Cord Leash functions very well. The build quality of the mechanism is excellent. We have had two other retractable leashes and neither would reliably retract the cord when needed. This is not the case with the flexi. It operated very smoothly and trouble free right up until it snapped freeing my very expensive Alaskan Klee Kai; a breed known to run off and never come back. My dog is 15.8 pounds and skinny, not muscular. A couple of days ago, approximately 3 months after purchasing the leash, he saw a rabbit and took chase. When he got to the end of the cord, it snapped where the cord is attached to the lead that attaches to the collar. I was very lucky to get my dog back. It’s surprising to me that a product that functions so well would use cord that is weak enough to break with such a small dog. Very disappointing.

Sturdy, attractive retractable leash
This is my 3rd or 4th Flexi retractable leash over the years. I have an 11 lb terrier-chihuahua mix, and the size M works best for him and for my size hands. The handhold is still a bit too small for my hands, but is workable. I originally tried the Small but that was way too small for my hands. Works as it should. No issues with braking or retracting. Is well constructed without being too heavy. Recommend 🙂

Well designed dog leach. Clip could be a touch larger, but overal mechanics work extremely well.

My previous lead, many many years old, finally gave in the ghost. I know I wanted the same brand but decided to try the tape rather than the cord type. I’m very happy I did. So far it’s retracting perfectly and I feel much less likely to be tripped up or suffer a friction burn if I hold it as my dog dashes. The unit is solid and sturdy and the changes in the lock feature are a useful improvement. I highly recommend.
Satisfied Customer –
Takes a bit of practice to get used to retracting and releasing the leash and locking it into place. When locked in place, you hear a clicking sound as you walk your dog – not sure why (I have two small pets). I ordered the medium and it is a comfortable hold. I especially love that you can attach the Flexi Multi Box.

I like the feel of the handle and the fact that you can adjust the size of the finger hole to fit your hand. Also i was a bit leary about the tape getting tangled but there is a swivel dodad(technical term) that makes the tape go into the handle smoothly and without tangling.

These are probably the best retractable dog leashes you can buy, but they’re not cheap either.
