    Great for travel
I use this every time I travel to avoid buying water. I have no concerns with hotel water or airport water when using this. Check the website for guides around long term storage. It’s pretty easy and only requires salt water.

Perfect for my style of traveling.
Collapses small for traveling light. It works well to squeeze for a toddler to drink too. The for speed might be a little low compared to other brands, but the filter works well.

    Lightweight but small
I took this backpacking for the first time. It’s lightweight but I think it was too small. The filter takes up a lot of space. Next time I will just take my lifestraw.

Great product and fantastic customer service!
I bought one of these for using while I’m flyfishing so that I don’t have to carry a bottle of water with me. It is perfect for that use – I just scoop up some water and have a drink when I need one, then fold this back up and tuck it into my pack or clip it to the outside of my chest pack. Unfortunately on a recent Flyfishing trip that included a lot of hiking, I found that when I made it down to the river, the filter and cap was still attached to my carabiner on my pack, but the bladder was gone. I reached out to LifeStraw to see if I could buy a replacement and they sent me an entire replacement unit for free! Talk about great customer service. This is not my first LifeStraw product and it definitely won’t be the last!

    Great for the field
Very easy to use and helped sustain me for a 20 day period in the mountains. Half of my platoon had one and made water procurement a breeze.

    Horrible taste, no customer service
I’ve been a loyal fan of Lifestraw for years, but this new filter is a huge letdown. I ordered two of these bottles, and both had the same issue. After thoroughly washing them and running water through the filter, I took a sip and the taste was absolutely awful. It was a dealbreaker.I reached out to Lifestraw’s customer service, but never received any response. It’s incredibly frustrating. I used to trust this brand, but after this experience, I’m afraid Lifestraw has lost me as a customer. Very disappointed.

    No taste, dries easily
Really the only downside (from a packability standpoint) is the slightly bulky hard plastic spout–but that’s what keeps the soft bag open making it easier to dry.Rinsed it once and used it plenty–no weird taste from the water.

If Only the Backwash Syringe Worked
I liked everything about this filter bottle – except that the backwash syringe stopped working after the first time. If you’re using questionable water, you MUST be able to clean the filter at regular intervals, and the syringe is the only way to do that. I liked the bottle’s capacity and how I could attach it to the outside of my backpack with a carabiner. Luckily I was able to access bottled water for most of my trip, but the inoperable syringe is a deal breaker. Back it goes for a refund.

I did a lot of research into which water filtration soft bottle would suit me. I needed something light and durable for long days trail running or hiking in the mountains, and decided this was the right one, as reviews attested to it being light, effective and durable.I’ve used it on two all-day trips since it arrived, and both times it was an absolute necessity. In fact, I ended up having to share my water with others who had run out of water and had no other option.I prefer to fill it from mountain streams or lakes but apparently you can even use it with standing water. It’s a great bit of kit and I’m very happy with the quality and performance so far.

The filter does the job but it came with a tiny puncture and the flush cleaner is not tight enough to make a seal and actually pull water through. Also, how do they not have a version for european bottles?I haven’t had any problems with the taste like many others seem to.Overall it seems like quality assurance is pretty lacking on the collapsable bottle version, but the filter inside works just fine. Filled with lake water multiple times and no effects 1 week later at least.
