I tried both medium and large sizes for my 13-14lb dog (Edison) and both sizes were just not comfortable and did not feel safe for our guy. I do think perhaps this would be a good purchase for a more sturdy type dog, like a terrier type, or a smaller dog like a chihuahua. The bottom sags forward and if you use both hands to hold it horizontal, it would be okay, but that’s not the point of a backpack for a dog. With the backpack zippered so that the dog’s head comes out the hole, Edison found it difficult to do while sitting in the backpack, and I felt like I would be choking him. I tried it without the top being zipped and that didn’t quite feel safe either. Sorry for this review, as I have tried numerous backpacks without success. I’ve rigged up my own backpack, and cut a sturdy base for the bottom and covered it with a towel, and that works much better. I’ve also used a tool bag from Lowes, as it has a very sturdy base, but it needs to be carried over the shoulder.

Great design poorly executed
Backpack design is really good. Until I tried to put my 18 pound French Bulldog in it. Shoulder strap ripped right off the bag!

Dog loves this bag
My dog loves this bag. While my dog is a bit heavy (8kg), the bag is holding up well. Perfect to bring your pup out when the ground is too hot, but mostly I use for commuting and biking around town. Great product.
