Figure 8 is the way to go when you don’t want your cat to GO.
If this review helps in any way Positive or Negative Please hit HELPFUL!!! It will help encourage me to continue my real reviews of products I’ve purchased.Pros: * Thrifty Price * Perfect fit for my 9.4LB 18 year old cat *Positive control of cat (if there is such a thing) * Got this one in RED so easier to find than the GREEN one that I already had that came with my cat *Relatively easy to fit and comes with clear directions, provided you don’t through them out accidentally.Cons: * Single snap has no backup to be sure that it does not fail * No locking mechanism to lock the collar size.Okay. This is my second cat in my life. New cat to me, and all cat. Cats love to explore. I needed a harness to keep my cat away from our house while it was tented with toxic gas for termites while we camped in the back yard waiting until given the sign that we could re-enter the house. Frankie had the harness on from Monday until Friday afternoon.I have found this to be the easiest way to put the harness on Frankie. First I sized the harness to the approximate neck and chest size for Frankie. I moved the Female portion of the snap close to the back plate. (Note when putting on be sure your back plate is right side up; I once was in a rush and tried to attach upside down which does not work.) Next I open the neck first as the clip is for the chest not neck. Slip collar portion over (found most comfortable for her existing collar to go over the harness). Lastly a quick run around the chest and snap whole harness closed. There should be two the three finger clearance. Don’t worry if the plate shifts on your cat’s back.Lastly I would buy this again, and recommend it to my friends. I tried a different harness years ago and my cat was out of it in seconds. I have a feeling that these figure 8 harnesses are the way to go for kitties as they will have a hard time squirming out of the harness. Fit is super important with this harness. I included pictures of my green and red on Frankie. It is okay if the harness goes to the side a little the important thing is not having it fall off. If you have the proper fit your cat will be able to wear this harness for days at a time without complaining.Thank you for reading my review:Again Please give this review a thumbs up. It is real. I’ve been on Amazon as a customer for over twenty years. I don’t get compensated for my reviews. (Not that I wouldn’t like to be.) I pay for Amazon Prime so I get any of the perks that come with my Prime membership.

Mr. Crazy Cat says “I want to go outside!”
Bought for my new Kitten/Cat and is exactly what I hoped for – it was too small / borderline too small for a 6lb kitten (6 month old) but as a teenage cat 8-9lbs it came to fit well and has plenty of room to expand as he grows. Early on as El Gato was first introduced to the harness he was a bit leery / uncomfortable with this equipment hanging off him and he wanted to fight (or just lay down) when any directional pull was put to him. When he was smaller this was problematic as he could slip out of the harness (though it did stay on for the first few tussles of any episode) but if he was startled and did the “freak out” and was far enough away where I couldn’t quickly gather him up he would slip the harness. Now as a teenager the fit is much better and he would be hard pressed to slip out. Fortunately as he has aged and gotten more used to the “walk” routine and the scary fire engines and school buses his “episodes” are much rarer so, though I have good confidence in the security of the harness, it is seldom tested now. Oh, it also does great double duty as a climbing safety harness – mr. crazy cat wanted to climb the front yard tree (perfectly acceptable) but decided he had to go to the very end of the branch and when “stopped” from tangling himself on side branches, slipped off and fell about 8 feet — only to be ever so lightly guided in to a 4-point landing by the “safety line” attached to his back! The cat said he had planned it that way the whole time as he took a couple of paw licks to prove it and ambled off tail held high…

perfect for airplane travel
This item was perfect for my 8 lb cat. A few weeks ahead of her plane flight I put it on her and let her walk around the apartment so she could adjust to the harness. She seemed concerned about it at first, but didn’t try to get out of it. After doing that a few times she seemed to not mind it at all, and didn’t struggle with it when I put it on her. This harness was perfect for the security checkpoint at the airport. I attached her tag to the metal loop on the back in case she escaped, and put a cord through the loop as well so I had something solid to grip in case she struggled. It worked perfect. She felt very secure when I carried her through the xray machine and didn’t struggle at all.She also had to wear the harness the entire week while we were at my family’s house in case she tried to run outside. She never tried to get out of the harness, and it never got caught on anything. The only time she got tangled up in the harness was the trip back when she tried to escape from her carrier at the airport. She didn’t escape, but she did get a leg through the neck loop, and had to spend the rest of the flight in what couldn’t have been a very comfortable position. If your cat struggles alot in this harness, I could see getting tangled up being an issue.I’m very happy with this purchase, and would recommend it to anyone flying with a cat.

🙁
I really dislike this product. I put it on my indoor (house) cat (it was pretty tight, we triple checked to make sure my cat wouldn’t be able to escape through this) and took him outside. He squeezed through it somehow (I don’t know how) and ran away. It took us a while to catch him again and bring him back inside. The whole process made me trip and fall down, and badly injure my knee. 🙁
