Stationary toy that moves a light around for cats to chase
This laser cat toy is useful for cats who love to pursue the little red dot, for people who feel uncomfortable using the laser (they can cause issues if the cat looks straight into the handheld laser cat toy), or for people who want to be sure their cat can play while they are away. There are a couple of different settings for at what angle and how far the light will travel. You’ll need to pay attention to these so that you don’t set it and it starts flashing all over your hummel figurines. It might be enough to keep a bored cat from nervous ticks like licking their paw, or for helping sedentary cats get some exercise, if they have a strong predatory impulse. Or, when the cat starts attacking your feet under the blanket, turn this on and put it where it points to some floor area and maybe it will be more enticing than your toes. It makes a very slight vibration but you can’t hear it in a normal setting. This would be a good gift for someone with a new cat, a bored cat, an overly energetic cat, as long as they don’t have a lot of breakable things strewn across their floor where they will have this toy pointed.

Easy to charge, easy to use, limited pattern randomization
The two cats love this toy, it’ll keep them entertained for quite a while. Setup is easy, but it only every shoots out one laser, not the two in the item photo.It is also quiet.I wish it has more randomization as the cats will start to get bored after 5 or 10 minutes.

Adjustable speed and area of play is a great feature.
This is my second laser toy like this that I’ve reviewed, and honestly, I think I do like this one better. The main appeal of this device is the more fine grain control over the speed of the laser. It’s also interesting how there’s three different areas that the laser can go through, even if the area of travel isn’t exactly what it looks like from the diagrams. You get a large sweeping area, a more narrow area in terms of how far left and right it goes, and a more narrow area as far as how far forward and back the laser goes. The second and third areas are just subsets of the first area. Depending on your setup, it might be better to set this lower to the ground (the manual suggests about three feet from the ground), as the laser unit does actuate quite a lot. The laser does stay on for about 10 minutes, and it swaps between a random pattern, and a linear back and forth pattern at random. After two hours or so, it activates again. My other laser toy had a motion sensor in it, but this one just works on its own time. This could be a good thing or bad thing for you; usually, I just turn it off when they’re done with it.As for how my cats felt about it, they love the thing. The cat that’s crazier about lasers got some energy out of her, and even my more reserved cat loved it. They each had their own speeds that they liked, so being able to adjust it to their tastes was really great. It’s a pretty sturdy unit as well, so if they decide to try and knock it over, it won’t break at all. Yeah, two cat approved.
Pros and Cons –
Cats love it but the beam is a bit tricky
So first and foremost, it is a great product and I haven’t been able to get my cats off of it when it is on. The big problem though is that it has to be on and it definitely does turn on and off very well and there is no other problem, but the laser cooldown of two hours is a bit much considering my cats enjoy being pretty active and playing with it. Since I’m not home they have to wait two hours to play for ten minutes so it is a bit too much but otherwise it’s a great product. Definitely recommend for pet owners
