HOW WE STARTED
We invented the Jerk-Ease as a father/daughter team when our dog pulled hard on the leash, injuring a family member’s shoulder. The idea was to make a “shock absorber” that would cushion tugs on the leash and prevent injuries. We learned from our vet that jerking on the leash also harms dogs, so we started our business with the goal of helping people and their pups live safely and happily without jerks.
WILL THE JERK-EASE STOP MY DOG FROM PULLING?
The Jerk-Ease acts as a shock absorber when your dog pulls, but some dogs do pull less, or stop altogether, because when the Jerk-Ease stretches it lets the dog know it’s about to hit the end of the leash – and dogs don’t like that sudden jerk any more than we do.
HOW LONG WILL MY JERK-EASE LAST?
We use the finest bungee cord available (made in the USA), but over time all elastic will relax and lose elasticity. How long that takes depends on weight, breed, temperament, and frequency of use. Each Jerk-Ease comes with tips to maximize longevity.
For Extra-Large Dogs
If you have an extra large dog (over 110 pounds) or an extra strong puller, you can combine a LARGE and a MEDIUM Jerk-Ease in parallel.

CAN THE JERK-EASE BE USED WITH A YARD STAKE?
The Jerk-Ease is designed for walking, jogging, cycling and other fun activities you do with your dog. We don’t recommend fastening any elastic leash to an unyielding object such as a yard stake or fence post, primarily because doing so will shorten its lifespan.

Helps significantly
I actually have a smaller dog but bought the medium size because she’ll barrel at full speed towards something while on long-line. I was a bit concerned that the medium was too “stiff” for her but it works well and significantly reduces the strain on her and myself while playing in open fields and on walks. The swivel bolt snap also is pretty strong, so I don’t have to worry about it breaking or her getting out of it unlike the ones on some leashes. Highly recommend if you have a dog that will jerk you or if you run with your dog at all.

Worked miracles for me and my 110lb pitbull/dogo argentino mix.
This thing has saved my dog walking sessions. I bought two. A black one for my male dog (wish they had tan) and a red one for my girl dog (wish they had pink). The male dog is 110lbs and pulls like a freight trane. He has injured my shoulder on more than one occasion when he saw a squirrel or rabbit and took off like a bullet to chase it. Everyone tells me to have him trained but who has that kind of cash. I tried training him myself but he is waaaay tooo stubborn. And I love him, so I just deal with it. Anyhow, this bungee has been a miracle worker. Yes, he still pulls like a freight train but now it has a slight bungee affect on my wrists and doesn’t hurt me anymore (I’m a 200lb Man). I can smile again while walking my dog! And this bungee is STRONG. My dog has broken multiple harnesses, latches, stainless steel hooks and even stainless steel cable while on his “dog run”. He stopped breaking things after I put this on his harness. $20 is a bit much to swallow but I will do it again! Had it six months and aside from very slight fraying due to close proximity to some velcro (I should remove that) but otherwise still looks new. I will buy again, especially if they offer a tan and a pink color option!

Definitely helps with a strong pulling dog. But It is on the heavy side and may be cumbersome for some.Its holding up and working well with my 80lb pit though.

Good temporary solution
I purchased this as a temporary solution to a dog we recently adopted because he pulled on walks and it made my shoulder sore. Product worked as intended and helped relieve the sudden jerk when our dog (80 lbs and very strong) reached the end of the retractable leash. It is a heavy-duty bungee and the clasp is also very sturdy. I have complete confidence in the product and it helped absorb the shock of my dog when he was pulling on walks.My permanent solution has been much more effective which was enrolling our dog in training classes and he now never pulls on the leash and I no longer need this product. However, I think this product was a good solution until I could get my newly adopted dog into an obedience class.

This is NOT a bungee leash.
We have used this on our high drive working dog for 3 years now and itâs performed beautifully. This is a shock absorber, designed to minimize the jolt associated with lunging so that both you and the dog are safer from injury.It is not a bungee leash. It will not turn a lunge into no shock at all. If thatâs what you need, look elsewhere.

I bought the bungee for dogs under 60 lbs. my dog is a strong 46 lbs puller that, at times, lunges on walks. The bungee is getting loose fast. Im going to get the one that is for even heavier dogs and see if it will last longer before it gets lose.UPDATE: i got the one for heavier dogs and while it works better, the hardware and two black cylinders covering the stretchy âstrapsâ are heavy and big. The cylinders dont stay in one place, uncovering the part they were meant to cover. Its no big deal but it defeats the purpose of having them and really those cylinders are just bulky and hit dogs as they walk fast/run.This is the strongest bungee iâve bought. But i really wish the design was better. Something less bulky (to avoid being uncomfortable for the dog as it can hit them) would be ideal.

Wonderful tool
We have our first puppy-a doberman. He is 4 months and learning a lot… so are we! This product has helped when he pulls quickly to lesson the jerk on my arm and I think it helps his neck not being jerked as well. Obviously, it does not replace proper training and eventual loose leash walking necessity… but I’m very happy with this product and it allows us to continue to use the leash and collar we want to use with him. Would recommend to any dog owner who is in the process of teaching a dog and learning the pups impulses. What I really like is how little it allows them to go- it’s not like he has more room to go further than I want him to but offers a great buffer for my leash arm and his neck. Great comfort tool without letting go of control. Side note: we bought the one for up to 60lbs, he is 40lbs. Hoping by the time he is 60lbs his maturity will kick in more but if the jerking is still an issue I would purchase the stronger one.

One’s good, two’s better…
I have used the single bungee style of jerk ease on a 24# herding dog for at least seven years. They last a year, maybe, before I realize it’s all stretched out and useless and time to get another one – because they actually do work really well. I discovered the two bungee style for large dogs and ordered it this time. It is pretty stiff to begin with, and not a lot of shock absorption, but I know it will stretch out. So I figure the double bungee will break in, like a stiff pair of shoes, and probably last a lot longer, I hope. If not, I will update my review in a year or so. Anyhow, if your dog is yanking your arm like crazy, get this – it works. It’s cheaper faster and easier than a shoulder replacement! Good Luck.

I got the larger size than recommended because I didnât think it would be strong enough, but it is. Itâs really well made, with just enough stretch to take the jolt out of a pull, but not enough to loose control. weâre loose leash training, so if my dog pulls I stop, and the elasticity gives him a gentle correction. It might be coincidence but since we started using it, heâs actually walking way better and pulling way less. As a training aid itâs great. And it helps my hands.

Terrific product. I have a 65lb rottweiler Shepherd so I bought the heavy duty one. It dissattached one time, perhaps it rubbed against the dog’s harness. Now I clip it from underneath the ring, so the latch is less likely to rub against the harness

Quality made and perfect when used attached to the car harness in the back seat for my small dog, the bungee helps if I brake suddenly and will take some of the impact of the harness jolting my dog, but sturdy enough not to snap.
