More freedom of movement for the pup
The installation of this restraint system is a bit more involved than those that click into the seat belt or loop around the headrest but it will allow more freedom of movement. The installation involves removing a clamp run it through the end loop on one grab handle, run it through the tether and then running it through the other grab handle and reapply the clamp. The main issue with this system is that the tether is a bit short. When installed in my SUV if I tightened it completely the tether wouldn’t be close to the seat. Luckily this is not a issue for our bullmastiff but if she was a smaller dog this would be an issue. I apologize for the poor quality of the attached photo. The system has a fairly large plasic coated cable and is nicely made. This is a nice alternative to the cheap plastic and nylon alternatives.

Good with a couple of issues
I got this product because my dog keeps unbuckling his old clip-in tether from the seat belt mechanism. This product does what it says, and my dog seems to have far more movability with this type of tether. That being said, I had to ding it for two start because: 1. It does not come with instructions. If you look at the website picture, it’s easy enough to figure out, but instructions should be included. 2. The mechanism to hold the removable loop together is dodgy with small parts that can easily be lost when you take it apart for installation. I would have preferred more of a slip ring mechanism that does not require disassembly. On the plus side, this tether is certainly long enough. In fact, you should have a cable cutter handy, because there will be a lot of cable hanging down after you’ve installed it. The only other issue that I’ve noticed, which really is not the fault of the product, is this type of tethering leads to the dog sometimes getting the hanging cable wrapped around his neck. All tethers will tangle. My old tether tangled around the legs, which was less concerning. Nonetheless, I will continue using this tether as the tangling is far less and it’s never to the point of being a hazard for strangulation.

Ease to use hand-hold to hand-hold strap but dog attachment is a tad too short
It was very easy to connect the strap from the left side of the car to the right. Sadly though, the strap from the horizontal safety cable to the dog is a bit too short to allow the dog to have enough freedom of movement in an SUV. I do appreciate that that strap has a 360° swivel though

Big Pup Approved!!
A lifesaver for car trips with my pup! The leash is super sturdy and keeps him safe in the car, without being too restrictive. Decent material, lead is short for a “smaller” dog
The build quality seems fine. Stretches across my Mazda hatchback and a Kia EV6 just fine. However the lead to attach your dog to is pretty short. For a smaller dog (we have beagles), it barely reached to their harnesses so it was always tugging just a bit. Just a few extra inches would have been great. For a larger dog it wouldn’t be a problem, but I definitely wouldn’t want to use this on a small dog

No Instructions
Not a super fan of this dog car leash. It didnât come with directions and I feel as the dog moves around in the vehicle that the grab bars are going to wear from the friction. It will work ok in our vehicle with the rear seat extender because I cannot access the seatbelt for the other type of harness holder but wonât use in our other vehicle.

Good car tether
I like that this back seat tether is strong and unchewable, but not so heavy that I can’t use it on a small dog. I may go ahead and add a short extension it.Last car trip I tethered my Havanese mix using his leash. When we got to our destination he had chewed through his leash, was loose in the back seat, and I had no leash left to put on him. Now I know he won’t be jumping out of the car on his own and he won’t go flying out of the back seat if we have a sudden stop.
