This was an amazing help for my eleven year old autistic child. He really did accept that biting on his shirt was kind of a hazard and a problem.I bought this item in time in case his anxiety worsened when doing sensory things. It does help keep his calm levels.. and heâs focused on doing more things in public, learning, camp- and school work at home. This came in a package of three for a good price. They are also disguised as a neat necklace, but has a purpose. I do advice to keep them clean. Use hot boiled water and light dish soap to clean. They do clean easy.

Not a steak
We got this for my 6 year old son’s anxiety at school. He was very excited about the large ‘megalodon’ tooth necklace. We’ve had it for one day and I have not had to re-direct his chewing. It’s nice to have piece of mind that I know he is putting something safe in his mouth.My only concern is the first one we gave him got pretty worn VERY quickly. Within 2 hours there were tons of teeth marks and the tip had been broken off. I sat down my son and explained that this is safe to put in his mouth but it is NOT a steak. So gently anxiety chews – don’t bite too hard. Since then we haven’t had any issues. For children that really like to sink their teeth into something this might not be the option for you. But a little self-control this is a great coping mechanism!

Ok but it seemed to increased my childâs want of chewing while he wore it
My son has a very strong oral fixation and pretty much all his life I have had to tell him to stop chewing on things. He is 10 now and his councilor called me about him chewing on things at school and his classmates are grossed out. She told me about these chew necklaces and I purchased them for him. The first day he wore it he chewed on it so much that his mouth was raw around the edges from the sides of it rubbing on his lips. He chewed the first necklace so it was almost breaking. I think a chew necklace will not help his social problems at school. It seemed to encourage him to chew all the more. After the first week he was bored of it and hasnât used it since. I donât particularly like the design either.

Worth Purchasing!
I never knew an item like this even existed. But, a teacher recommended this for my almost 7 yr old grandson – being that he’ll chew on things he shouldn’t be chewing on. So, after researching products like this one, I decided to choose this one. When I received it, I was happy to know that it wasn’t difficult to clean, was durable, and, had a sturdy, comfortable and adjustable neck holder. And, the neck holder can be easily removed for cleaning as well. The moment I gave it to my grandson, he chewed on it for a good hour or 2. I thought the item would have been chewed up by then. But, nope. I love the fact that this item came in a pack of 3. Two would be at his home with mom & dad and one with me.Now, yesterday was his first day of school. I thought for sure he would want it being how anxious he is…and was. But, he didn’t want to have it at school. I think he didn’t want to feel like it was babyish. But, I bet by the end of the week when he feels comfortable with his new classmates, he’ll be using it in school. I’m also glad your company showed an older child wearing one – as opposed to marketing it solely as a baby teether. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase of this item.
