From the popular series that launched with Tree: A Peek-Through Picture Book comes a book with peek-through holes that show the moon’s different phases with each turn of the page.
Over deserts and forests, Arctic tundra and tropical beaches, the moon shines down on creatures around the world. Children will love discovering how it changes from day to day as the lunar cycle is shown through clever peek-through holes, each revealing the moon in a different size and shape.
It’s the perfect light nonfiction book for young stargazers—and an ideal bedtime book, ending with a giant moon hovering over a sleepy town hunkered down for bed.

Good Illustrations and Thick Paper
My toddler loves the moon, and she loves this book. She loves pointing to all the different animals and saying their names. The paper is very thick, which protects against tears. The words rhyme, and itâs a very cute book. I would recommend it.

My son’s favorite bedtime book!
Buy this book! This was one of the first books my son really showed interest in (at 10 months). The illustrations are beautiful and he loves to put his little fingers through the cutouts. He is one and a half now and we have and love the entire collection. They are the first books we reach for!

Beautiful an adorable artwork accompanied by seemingly random story
In my opinion this book would be an easy 5 stars (something I rarely give) based off the stunning artwork alone. This, followed by the moon peeking through here and there makes for an appealing book for anybody, especially babies and toddlers. What dings a star is the completely random and incoherent storyline that accompanies the book. Now, I am aware that this is a book meant for very young humans, most of whom don’t know more than a handful of words or sounds but still – the story has nothing to do with the moon and makes no sense at all. The writer just threw some rather basic rhymes together and called it good. For example, the text starts off asking a question along the lines, “Have you wondered about the beauty of the moon?” and then continues to mention nothing about the moon whatsoever and just rhymes about different (adorable) nature scenes all over the world in different environments (mountains, prairies, tundra, etc.,). Also, the order of the moon phases is quite random and doesn’t actually follow the correct waxing and waning we are used to in real life (seems like a pretty simple thing to get right). For example, in the middle of the book, the “new moon” jumps straight to a “full moon” the following page… I don’t know why this happens and there is no explanation in the text. Kind of weird!Get the book because of the beautiful art. Overall a nice attempt. The art alone is reason enough to flip through the book each night with the little one. You can make your own words!

Adorable
I read this book to my 16 month old granddaughter. She likes it, but it’s still a bit of an abstract concept for her. I think it’s a great introduction to the world around her and will help her as her awareness and vocabulary improves.

Moon delight
My grandson (19 mths) LOVES pointing to the moon at night. Ever since he was born, I have always pointed it out to him. Now whenever he sees it, he says moon and points to it. I just gave him this book and he loves reading it and seeing how the moon has to go through stages to get to a full moon. The book also has many animals he can relate to. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

Avevo già la tradizione in italiano per cui sapevo della bellezza delle illustrazioni. Mi è spiaciuto non vedere la luna glitterata
