either dull very quickly or nails cause they to break or …
We have two young kittens and have been trying to clip their nails for 6 months now and it’s been a constant battle. I have tried three different types of nail trimmers and they have all failed within a month or two, either dull very quickly or nails cause they to break or out of adjustment and won’t trim very well. So I decided to purchase a more precision and professional type. Well, these trimmers work very well. My kittens now almost a year old, don’t seem to mind trimming as much with these new trimmers, I trim their nails almost every week to week and half, so I will see how long these stay sharp. Trimms seem to be much better quality and fairly well built over cheap trimmers I have used in the past. They have a good feel and are small enough to maneuver around to get a good trim on smaller paws. Since they are also sharp I don’t believe that it hurts the cats like the other cheap ones.I would recoomend this product, not sure how it would work on larger animals, but so far works great for my cats.

Best Design Yet
The ergonomic feel of the nail clippers makes clipping a wiggly dog’s nails easier (I am a professional dog groomer). The bent angle, allows me to lift the dog’s foot backwards and clip the nail horizontal to the pad perfectly, decreasing the chances of my cutting the quick. The design of it works great because the closing/locking tab is inside the handles, not outside. Other clippers, with the locking tab on the outside by the thumb, will accidentally lock when you clip, every time, making nail clipping twice as hard and very frustrating. Clip, reset the shield, unlock it over and over. Actually, the black plastic locking tab fell off very easily, but in my case, it made the clippers better. The safety shield stays in place too. The shield on other clippers won’t stay over the opening so that I have to adjust it back over the opening between each nail clip. When the shield stays, I can clip, clip, clip quickly, getting through the groom faster, without getting the quick of the nail.

They work but BEWARE of the defective locking mechanism if you have children nearby.
I was immediately interested in these dog nail clippers when I saw the angled head on them. They were an Amazon Deal of the Day so I thought I’d give them a try. Right off, I will say the trimmers do what they’re supposed to do: trim dog nails. However, I actually didn’t care for the angled head at all. All it made me do was twist my wrist in funny position to accommodate the angle. Perhaps there’s a learning curve and Iâll get used to them (?).I noticed several reviewers have remarked on the faulty locking clip. We, too, had a problem with it. The very first squeeze of the handles resulted in the little locking piece disengaging from the clippers, flying 8 feet across the deck, and smacking my unsuspecting 75-year-old mother in the face. It startled her and made her squeal rather than hurting her (she thought it was a bee) and we all got a good chuckle out of it, but the potential to harm really is possible. I would especially make sure younger children or toddlers aren’t nearby until you know whether or not the locking mechanism is going to stay in place or not.I also noticed several reviewers commented that their trimmers didnât have the guard on it (which they liked). I donât like those guards either, but the pair I received DID have the guard on it. Theyâre not hard to remove, but if youâre expecting to receive a pair without a guard, you may be disappointed.Honestly, I donât think these clippers any better than any other pair Iâve tried. They donât seem any sharper, the handles arenât any more comfy or better, and as Iâve already mentioned I donât really care for the angle. Wish I could give them 3-1/2 stars because of the potentially harmful flying locking mechanism. However, Iâm going to give 4 stars because they do function as theyâre supposed to plus 15% of the profits are donated to an an animal rescue group.

Quality
Easy to handle and feels smooth, does not hang up at all. Clips the nail in one sharp snip, it does not pinch and the blades are sharp. The spring is nice quality, the grip is rubbery and it does not slip out of my hand. I got the small size for my pup, and I will be getting the larger size of this brand as he gets older. Nice product and great price.

little and effective
These are great nail cutters for little dogs (not sure about big ones!). They are easy to use and have a guider/cuticle protector so that you know exactly how far to cut without hurting your little one.Compared to others I have used, these are very quite, which helps my pup a lot as he is scared of all types of “grooming” things. And the safety lock is great for storing.

Nice guard but not super sharp.
I bought new clippers because the guard on our old pair kept slipping out of place while clipping our dog’s nails. This guard does stay put which is good. But they are not as sharp and easy to cut through the nail as our last pair which are probably 20 years old. I distract our dog while my husband actually clips the nails and I could see right away that he was using more force to get through the nail. But if he held it at a certain angle it was a little easier. Still, they should be sharper than my old clippers. Also, the warnings on the back of the package made absolutely no sense but were hilarious!
