Well thought out carrier for hotels and airports
When Hurricane Ian hit Tampa about a year ago, we were forced to evacuate with furry little friends. Trying to carry cat carriers into hotel with luggage and riding elevators, etc was just more stress and trouble in an already very chaotic time. We had no choice but to wait for the one luggage cart at the hotel which no one seemed to know where it was. Ended up waiting 15min before could transport the cats and finally get into a hotel room after hours or driving. When I saw these new wheeled cat carriers, I knew I had to get one. This thing is amazing imo. This is my first carrier of its kind so I cannot guarantee its the best on the market but I can say it has satisfied my needs. The carrier arrived and I immediately opened and tried to assemble. It basically came in 3 parts which is also how it disassembles / collapses for storage. The 1st part is the carrier itself which folds flat to an inch or two high. The 2nd part is the “chassis” or platform with a flap that attaches that contains the handle. The telescoping handle can be collapsed and folded back onto the platform and also is likely 1-2inches high. The 3rd part is the 4 wheels which easily snap into the base and can quickly be removed when storing.I was able to assemble in under about 2-3 minutes. Some key highlights:-The wheels move very smoothly and telescoping handle extends high enough to easily use. I’m 6’0″ and felt every bit as comfortable as handles on suitcase-The carrier attaches to the platform with 4 pieces of velcro that run entire length of platform. 2 strips on the top, and 2 strips on the bottom of the platform. There is an extra piece of material that tucks under the platform to really secure the carrier. It is well-designed and seems very secure-A removable pad covered in fleece type material provides additional cushioning for pets. The only cons I can see are the materials may not be the highest quality. They seem like good quality and durable but I suspect some higher end cat carriers may be more expensive materials. The other issue is one that is mentioned by some other reviews also- the front opening on the carrier collapses / closes when it is left opened. As you open for both loading and unloading your cat / dog, the front loses its structure and squishes down on itself. It doesn’t fully collapse but it collapses about halfway which makes it difficult and also cannot leave open for pets to stare out as it would collapse on them too. Seems like it could have been an easy fix and is the only real negative I have found so far.The carrier also comes with a collapsible silicone food / water bowl that seems to be good quality and is a nice value add.Overall, I am very happy with this carrier. As my first foray into wheeled carrier, it has met all my expectations. I believe it will be very useful in emergencies or for travel. I def recommend

Not Sturdy and TOO Big!
The handle is not sturdy! You need a very tight grip on it like you cannot stroll with ease. I was trying the cheaper route but no I wouldnât really recommend this at all. PLUS itâs too big the measurements are definitely off you literally have to mush it up to go under the seat luckily the flight attendant was nice to help out but no! This is a no!

Handle Attachment Broke on First Trip.
Took one domestic flight with a Shiatsu. Every time he leaned to one side or another while inside the crate, the whole thing would topple over. Towards the end of my time at the airport it rolled over one last time and the piece that attaches the handle to the crate just ripped off making this a carry crate instead of a rolling one.

Only one suggestion
As a frequent traveler with a small dog, I recently purchased the Birch & Key Pet Carrier with Wheels in black, and it has quickly become an essential travel companion for us both. The carrier is lightweight yet sturdy, making it easy for me to maneuver through airports and crowded spaces. My dog seems comfortable inside, with plenty of room to move around and ventilation through the mesh panels. The removable wheels are a game-changer, especially on long walks through terminals. The telescoping handle is comfortable to grip and makes pulling the carrier a breeze. The carrier also meets airline regulations, so I can confidently bring my dog on flights without any issues. One improvement would be that there is only one small pocket on the outside for accessories.

the cadillac of cat carriers, UPDATED info on an important flaw
The only thing not to like about this carrier is the fact that my ‘fraidy cats won’t go anywhere near it. I’ve deliberately left it out in a location near their food dishes so they could (theoretically) get used to it, but it has been a month and neither cat has ventured inside. My next step is to remove the wheels and see if having it flat on the ground makes it more user-friendly to them.Since my goal with this carrier is to make it easier to transport my cats in case of a natural disaster the requires me to evacuate, since I’ve found that a regular soft-sided carrier is just too difficult to maneuver with a cat inside. This carrier should allow me to move fast– once I get the cat/cats inside. But therein lies to issue: it will be VERY challenging to get them inside before I can transport them.UPDATE: After staring at this carrier for months and wondering why my cats won’t go near it, I realized that it has one potentially fatal flaw: when the square front opening is unzipped, the whole carrier collapses; there are no rigid components to hold up the sides without the support of the door. SEE MY PHOTOWhat this means for a cat is : A) impossible for the cat to enter from the front when it is unzipped. Just imagine a cat getting halfway out and then having the whole carrier collapse on them– a real deal-breaker as far as a cat is concerned. B) if you manage to get the cat in thru the top (a real challenge with a protesting cat), then he/she cannot walk out on their own because the door opening collapses.Other than this vital flaw, this carrier seems sturdy, maneuverable and apparently comfortable once the cat is in it– but I hope I will never have to use it in an emergency evacuation!

Good but not great
We were excited to try this carrier because of the removable wheel platform. When the removable wheel platform was used our dog kept tipping over because the wheels are not placed all the way to the edge of the carrier. So the weight of the dog(which most animals also move around) kept tipping over. We ended up leaving this portion of the carrier home because it was it was unusable. I would return it if we were with the return window. Our dog is was about 14lbs shih-tzu/ havanese mix

Did okay
A bit large to fit under your seat but my dog had plenty enough room to fit but when you are pulling your fur baby through the airport, the carriage flips over. The wheels needs to be updated.
