BEST GIANT LITTER BOX for a FABULOUS PRICE AND MAT TIP!
EDIT: While this is my FAV BY FAR litter box, I get a yoga mat, put it horizontally from the middle of the box to the front so there is a LOT of mat on each side to catch any litter. Worked better and is cheaper than other mats I have seen or used. AND I got a blue one to match the box! There are a lot of cheap yoga mats out there. Easy to dump and litter and clean too!_____________________________________________First, most cat experts say get an OPEN box. That’s great but if sides are low easy for cats to kick litter out. Not so with this box. And at this price, once or twice a year, I just replace and eventually they do get scratched up on bottom and I just like having new boxes for my tortie, Rowan. OH and also the open boxes are easier to scoop litter out of it, you don’t have to take the top off.THIS is the BEST open litter box I’ve found and I have had a TON of litter boxes over decades.FYI, I got the Petmate Jumbo. They are about the same price or are at this time. Let me save you some time and money. They’re about the same price BUT the plastic on the Pureness is sturdier, thicker and BIG POINT, the sides are much higher which means less litter kicked out!Since I do get the plastic litter boxes and they do tend to eventually get scratched and it’s just nice to get a new box about twice a year, I just MISTAKENLY ordered the Petmate and am sorry but too much of a hassle to send back and I had already emptied out the Pureness of litter and tossed it, unwrapped the Petmate and thought NO! So when I get another box in six months I will make sure it’s the Pureness Giant.

I can recall the average Kitty Loo being a low wooden soft drink bottle box filled with sand; then came the revolutionary introduction of commercial litter in the ’50s. And yet for years, catpans tended to be no more than glorified dishpans, minus the glory. They generally remained much the same until the introduction of turd rakes in the late ’70s.Since the’ 90s, there has been a proliferation of catpan forms, and of supposedly revolutionary catpan designs, some of which most cats seem to hate.So, what does the discriminating feline look for in an elegant and up-to-date Royal Stool? My Concierge and Home Sovereign, Queen Rutabaga, wants the world to know she loathes any catpan with a lid. And ones where she has to make a special effort not to offload over the side of the pan are an affront to feline dignity, creating the impression that these congenitally fastidious creatures just don’t give a pile of you-know-what.But catpans such as the one under review have a lowered entry point, but with very high sides, rendering entry easy, making it very difficult for Kitty to have an accident, and keeping turds corraled until the Groom of the Stool makes the rounds. I bought this ‘extra giant’ size as a replacement for the large size tray my cat has been using for about 3 years now. As with the large, the deep sides are what makes this tray such a great product and my cat can dig and bury her business to her heart’s content. I decided to upgrade to the extra giant as I thought she was looking a bit cramped in the large (she’s not huge at about 4.25kg but she likes to pee and poo in opposite corners on the short sides).On first looking at it I thought it wasn’t much bigger than the large size. The area at the bottom of the tray seems quite small, however, once the litter goes in it creates more floorspace.This does take a lot more litter. One 6.35kg/14lb bag of clumping litter would nicely fill the large tray with some left over for topping up. This one takes a whole bag and needs more to get a good depth really, but my cat is happy enough with it for now. We do still get a small scattering of litter as she leaves the tray but that is probably more likely down to the type of litter we use getting caught in her paws rather than the actual tray.Five stars because my cat also loves the extra giant box the tray was packaged in. It’s been by far her favourite bed.

Hoffentlich bald gibtŽs doch noch welche zu kriegen (mindestens 2, bitte :o))!!!IŽve tried many different types of litter boxes for my cats and am so very happy finally to have ordered one of the last of the all-time best one weŽve ever had!Hardly any litter ends up around it on the floor and it is really soooooo much easier to clean than all my others–and my Ruby loves this extra large size.IŽve only had it 2 weeks now, been telling my friends about it and IŽve been asked (begged, really) to order 2 more, but unfortunately there arenŽt any available at the moment.
