Keeps My Border Collie X Busy
This is a great toy! My daughter has one for her dog who constantly needs brain games. This does the trick! I got a puppy and sheâs 4 mos. I have wooden floors and because the ball is made of a hard rubber it doesnât damage them AND itâs not very noisy because it isnât like the other hard plastic balls out there.There is one tip that Iâd like to share, though, because I had a deuce of a time getting it open. I am a small woman and it was difficult to get my hands around it to open until my husband figured out a way. I hold the yellow lever down with my thumb and then âcrack it like an eggâ opening it from the bottom. It takes a little practice but once you get the hang of it it works quite well.

My blue heeler loves this toy and it is great for days when I can not get her as much exercise. Sadly the material has flaked off due to minimal chewing but it is still functional. Would purchase again

I love this enrichment toy for my dog. He absolutely loves it. I wish there was a more difficult level one because he’s mastered it. He figured it out very quickly, but we do a lot of Starmark enrichment puzzles. He brings it to me most nights for me to fill up.It does pick up hair and dirt like a magnet and is difficult to clean the outside of, so prepare for it to not stay so pretty.Don’t let your dog chew on this- it’ll get even more gross and the silicone with come off. With a big enough mouth and biting just right, your dog could pop it open, so definitely keep an eye on them when playing (this has only happened twice over a couple hundred times playing)

My dog’s favorite puzzle toy.
I was surprised by the negative reviews because my 55 lb dog loves this toy. And I means LOVES it! I fill it with about 1/2 cup of kibble and she plays with it until it is empty, her little tail nub wagging the whole time. She really has to work at it to get every treat out, which is what makes it such a good puzzle toy. When I first introduced it to her, to avoid frustration, I put the kibble in the easier compartments and also tossed kibble to her when she would paw the toy. Now that she understands the game, she gets very excited when I get the ball out and it will keep her busy a good 20 minutes or more. The faceted sides are awesome because the ball doesn’t immediately roll under the couch and disappear. I agree that the toy is hard to open but if you examine the way the the clip works, then hold it down while you wiggle the other half of the ball, it will open. Once you have done it a few times, it gets easier but still stays tight enough not to come open while your dog roughly plays with it. My dog is not a chewer so we have not had the chewing that another user reported. We’ve had the toy several months and there is no damage at all. Prior to this toy, we were fans of the wobbler but this ball keeps her busier for a longer time and she will choose it over the wobbler if I put them both down. If your dog is used to getting treats out of a puzzle toy and is not a chewer, I think you will love this toy.

Good for active pups
I actually purchased this for a friend with a new puppy. It has been our dogâs favorite toy since she was little. This has been a lifesaver for active indoor play during our rainy Oregon winters. Getting the ball open is a bit tricky at first, but ok after you do it a few times.

Not for power chewers.
While I really liked this puzzle toy for the fact that it has varying degrees of difficulty for the treats/ kibble to fall out, I did not like how soft and easily torn the outer rubber coating is. Yes, it’s great for noise control and the puzzle does keep your dog’s interest for a good while, but the coating does not stand up to power chewers as you can see in the picture. This was only after a few uses. Had no trouble getting the puzzle to open or close, by the way. I also have another Starmark treat dispenser (Everlasting Treat Ball) for my dog that works well, stands up to chewing, but it dispenses treats too easily and thus entertains for only a short time.
