Bonehead is a fun chew accessory to hold dog chews! It’s specifically engineered to work with our original Himalayan yak cheese dog chews, but can be used to hold all kinds of dog chew treats. All you need to do is simply use a screwdriver to loosen the screw on the toy, slide in the chew so that it’s centered in Bonehead, and tighten the screw back down. Then, give it to your dog to enjoy! When they have chewed as much as they can, you can remove the small piece of leftover chew that’s locked in the middle of the dog toy to make a cheesy puff for your pup to enjoy! Just soak the small bit that’s remaining in warm water for five minutes, pat it dry and toss it in the microwave for 45 seconds to make the puff. A Yak Must Have
My dogs love yak chews but we canât let them have them once they get small. These help tremendously. You do have to use a large flat head (phillips just donât work right) and screw in very tight. Once down to the point dogs canât chew anymore we soak and microwave. These are a safety much have!

Exactly what I needed for my 40 lb puppyâs aggressive chewing.
Finally I can relax and not be obsessed that my puppy may choke on a yak chew! I used a large flat head screwdriver to easily secure the yak chew. Be sure to check the security of the chew before each chew session. My super aggressive chewer can not be left unattended with the holder, but this has changed my life for the better. We have only had the holder a few days and it is taking a beating. This holder is a great value and definitely gives me peace of mind.

Works, but getting harder to secure yak over time
These work perfectly for two things: 1. Giving dog something to grip onto so they can hold their yaks easier 2. Prevents pups from eating small stub left at end. The only thing I wish the company would do is make the screw imprints out of either tougher plastic or metal just on that piece because when you twist it in with a flat head to secure the yak in place the plastic bends and the pattern for you to twist the flathead into is hardly usable after 7-8 times of doing this. Everything else about this is great though. Itâs a simple concept and a great price. Just need to make that screw top tougher 🙂

Inconsistent
I recent bought two of these. They are the perfect size and help my dogs hold onto their long lasting chews. However, they are inconsistent with quality. One of the boneheadâs screws go in and out easily. The other barely moves and the plastic head of the screw continues to get chewed up when trying to turn the screw.There also seems to be a difference in plastic durability. One of them has no scratch marks on it (the one that screws easily). The other gets cut up really easily. Which is disappointing.

Can be dangerous
My dog loves to chew, and I wanted something to hold yak chews or bully sticks so he can chew away and I donât have to worry about pulling a half chewed bit from his throat. This seemed like the solution. However the yak chews that I had were a tad too big and the plastic screw stuck out about 1/4â. He went right for that and messed it up. My husband fixed it but he again chewed the screw and it no longer worked. Then he got it stuck around his lower jaw and he panicked. It was painful to him when I removed it but we got it off and into the trash it went. My husband got a great idea and pushed a yak chew into a Kong (the XL red rubber one) and it worked perfectly! He couldnât pull the end of it out of the Kong. This bonehead is a waste of money and potentially dangerous!EDIT WHILECTHE Kong works well, my dog cam push it into the king when it gets short. Itâs a PIA to get out but we manage. Then we put the rest of the yak cheese chew in the microwave, and it puffs up and gives him and extra treat and no waste!

Awesome!
The Bonehead is wonderful! I highly recommend it for anyone who gives their dogs Yak cheese sticks. It makes the yak cheese sticks easier for my dogs to grip and also prevents choking hazard because the it keeps the stick from getting too small. The blue size is perfect for Medium to large Yak sticks. It holds the sticks very well when the screw is tightened. The screw is an odd size, but luckily I have a screw driver with an extra large head so I have t had any problems.

Disappointing
We have two dogs and the larger (50#) of our dogs puts this to shame. She can chew a yak chew in less than an hour and consistently can get it out of this device. It works better for our 35# dog who is content to use it as designed. Aggressive chewers beware

Great Safety Device
Wolfhound Ratings-Size: ð¶ð¶ð¶ð¶Durability: ð¶ð¶ð¶ð¶ð¶This Bonehead yak cheese holder does everything it says! It is a chore to find appropriately sized chews for my giant Irish Wolfhounds and even XL yak chews are right on the edge of too small but this holder makes them a much safer.SIZE: The Bonehead holder fits all but the widest of the XL yak chews we purchased (they vary in width and height) and would probably hold other chews like bully sticks. The diameter of this large size holder (about 4.25 inches) is acceptable but my XL dogs could really use an XL size of 6-inches in diameter or more (hint hint Bonehead :D)DURABILITY: So far they are holding up well, even when my goof of a dog decided to chew on the holder instead of the cheese. Use a large flathead screwdriver to tighten the screw and you’ll find it easy to use and very secure.

This Bonehead Yak Stick Holder is the best! Our 4 month old Puppy has been chewing like crazy, due to teething. This has helped him get a better grip when heâs chewing on his favourite chew sticks, which has meant he can chew longer without getting us to hold it for him when heâs really needing to chew. My puppy chewed the screw the day I got it within 10 mins. Also I have the largest size of yak stick and the screw doesn’t touch the yak stick to hold it in place. The product doesn’t work. How can I return this product ?
