Fun sensory set
This is a nice set for sensory play. Most of the equipment toys in this set are very cheap feeling plastic, besides one that has some metal. I set the metal one aside for play elsewhere, and kept all the plastic ones in our sensory bin. Honestly, they’re just going to get filled with sand so it’s not huge deal if they’re not the best quality. The little army-like men and shovels are also a fun addition. There’s a reasonable amount of sand in this set – I give some to my 2 year old, a little more to my 4 year old, and then there’s still some left. I just have a quarter size cookie sheet for each of them for sensory activities, so I’m not trying to fill a whole bin. This set does come with a bin, so it would be a great starter set. My husband has a skidsteer and excavator, so my kids were very excited about having their own mini versions of some equipment. The mat seems like it would be more difficult to pour the sand out of for clean up, and the sides are too tall for my kids to play comfortably while seated at the table, so we haven’t used that. I think the mat would be more suited for play with some cars and not sand.
