A very expensive dog leash/Update
To begin with this is a very expensive dog leash. I feel that the handle was designed for a person with very small hands.So if you have medium to large hands it may be a bit uncomfortable. The switch to operate the release is difficult to manipulate forcing you to fumble around with it when you need to lock the tether. The hook which connects to the collar doesn’t seem that sturdy either. The blinking “Disco Lights” on the handle are way to dim to act as a warning light but are bright enough to be a distraction. The flashlight is not bright enough to light up the path ahead of you however it is sufficient to light up the sidewalk for a few paces ahead. The bag holder feels a bit flimsy and is clumsy to load and use. All of the attachments connect to the leash handle by screwing on, just keep in mind that you can only use two of the attachments at a time.So you can’t use the Bluetooth speaker while having the flashlight attached, or the bag dispenser with another attachment. Overall this leash is a cool idea but not well executed. However it does come in a nice box even though the directions are hard to read. I’d wait until they improved this product before buying. Update, 11/17/20 Yesterday my wife informed me that while walking our six month old Standard Poodle, she noticed that the line went slack, and when she looked down at the dog walking beside her she noticed that the metal connector to the leash had totally separated. Luckily our normally spirited pup decided not to runs loose. For the price of this product, this is totally unacceptable and is highly unsafe for the pet. I would not recommend this leash at this time.UPDATE 01/10/21 After digging deep into the Dogness website, I was finally able to locate a e-mail address for customer service. After an initial e-mail to them explaining the issues with their product, I was contacted via e-mail by a Ms.Angela Sun, the Sales&Marketing Manager for the Dogness Group. After again explaining the problem she said that she would look into it. Shortly thereafter, I received a replacement leash. Although it took several months from contacting Dogness 11/30/20 until the situation was resolved 01/07/21 I am changing my review to Four Stars based on the fact that the replacement leash’s “latch” seems to be a lot sturdier than the one that broke. If it wasn’t for the amount of time that it took from the initial contact with Dogness to the arrival of the replacement I would have given them a five star rating.
