    Great storage bags
I love these breast milk storage bags. I haven’t had any issues with them whatsoever. I use a Lansinoh electric pump and once I’m done, I simply rip off the tab of the bag, open it, squeeze the ends of the zipper closure and pour the expressed milk into the bag. Then I try to get the majority of the air out and seal the bag shut. On the outside lip, there’s a spot where you can write your name, date, time, and amount stored. Being that it’s on the outside, it means that when you go to pour out the stored milk, it’ll never come into contact with the ink. When I pour out the stored milk, I once again squeeze the ends of the zipper closure and use one of the now curved sides as a pouring spout. It works great and I’ve never had an issue with milk not making its way to a bottle. When I store my bags full of milk, I put them in the freezer and use The First Years Breastflow Milk Storage Organizer. It squeezes the bags flat enabling me to store more in the space.A word about measurements. If you don’t know the exact amount of milk expressed prior to pouring it into the bag, your measurements may be off. First of all, before pouring milk into the bag, I would suggest pulling down the bottom of the bag that folds up for flat storage prior to use. If you don’t, your measurement will most likely be around 1 oz off. If you pull the tab down, then pour your milk in, I would recommend reading the measurement and then subtracting 1/2 oz from it. I’ve noticed my measurements to be much more accurate when I do this. The measurement markings go up to 6 oz however you could store up to 12 oz in these bags.

Storing and thawing tips to make your milk management life easier
I’ve used these for over 10 months and love them. Here are some tips I’ve learned along the way:– Lay the bags flat to freeze them and then use some sort of box to store them upright in your freezer.– You can get a box specifically designed to store frozen milk bags, but I just got a few small cheap rubbermaid type boxes. It doesn’t matter what you use, as long as you can keep them from sliding around in your freezer. The edges of these things become really sharp when frozen and are like miniature guillotine blades if they slide out of your freezer and chop down on your foot. Safe containment is key.– Make sure to write the date on the milk bag so you can store and use them in order of oldest to newest. If you store them upright in a box, just add new ones in the back and take ones to thaw from the front.– When thawing it’s always best to put the frozen bag inside something else, like a bowl or a ziplock bag. One the very rare occasion when they leak, I was glad it was contained and I could still get the milk into a bottle. I’m pretty sure the ones that leaked where the ones that fell onto the floor — the sharp edges probably cracked the bag when it hit the ground.– You can thaw the milk overnight in the fridge, or if you need it faster you can place the frozen bag in hot water. (While in an additional ziplock, of course.)Good luck! The pumping, storing, and overall managing of breastmilk is a labor of love. I’ve done it for over 10 months now. It’s a lot of work, but know that whatever your reasons are for doing it, your baby is benefiting in huge ways. Way to go, mamas! You can do it!!

These do exactly what they say they will
These milk storage bags have worked perfectly over the past 6 months I have used them. No leaks and no issues. The double seal provides a sense of security. I am very careful not to let the bags get “bumped around” in the freezer though. I can’t imagine any plastic bag could hold up if it were being bumped by other items in the freezer all the time. I use an empty box to hold all the frozen bags, and it works just terrifically. I would buy these again.Note, for obvious reasons (these are bags, not bottles) the measurements on the sides are going to differ based on how you hold the bag. But since EVERYONE pumps into a bottle first, I just use the bottle measurement to record the ounces on the tabs made for that purpose.

Does the job but Be careful
Great but every now and then I come across some that get holes after I’ve frozen them so when I thaw the milk, it leaks everywhere.

    They Break!
I ordered these bags as a change from my usual because the reviews I read seemed good, and they are definitely more affordable. However, they keep breaking!! Not when I fill them, but after they come out of the freezer, no matter if I let them thaw on the counter or place the bag in warm water, they leak. I am utterly frustrated as this has happened several times! The contents of these bags are like liquid gold, and I can’t afford to waste any milk! Last night I placed a bag from the freezer into the refrigerator and this morning I opened the door to find my milk dripping all over the fridge. Ugh!

    the only bags I use
I’ve used Lansinoh and Medela pump and save bags. Although using these bags requires a two step process, it’s well worth it. These bags hold MORE milk, freezes flat, and is much easier to pour out of. After purchasing 3 boxes of these online here, I found them at Target for about the same price. I’m glad I have options being here in Hawaii. I bought a box of medela pump and save bags because it was an emergency and I didn’t have my pump with me. So, I had to buy a Harmony and use the P&S bags. Now, what I do is carry the harmony with a few medela bags in a ziploc bag in my purse just in case I find myself away from baby an no pump for an extended amount of time. These lansinoh bags are of decent thickness and the write on tab is at the top of the bag so I don’t worry about any ink seepage and is easier to file when frozen flat and stored in a tall bin in my freezer.I highly recommend these storage bags. They are only measured up to 6 oz but I store up to 9 oz. The milk expands when frozen so I haven’t put in more than that.
