it can be fun to be grumpy
My children love the expressive words and pictures in this book. They like how Jim changes his appearance to try not to seem so grumpy. It has a good message as well. Sometimes life isn’t fun. And once you accept it, it can be a bit easier. Also it is nice to have friends who care along for the ride.

Turning Frowns Upside Down
Grumpy Monkey by Suzanne Lang is a delightful tale that captures the essence of dealing with emotions, particularly when one is feeling a bit out of sorts. ðð¨In this charming picture book, we meet Jim Panzee, who wakes up feeling grumpy for no apparent reason. As he goes about his day, his friends try to cheer him up with various activities, but Jim just can’t seem to shake off his grumpiness. ðThe illustrations by Max Lang perfectly complement the story, bringing Jim’s emotions to life in vivid detail. From his furrowed brow to his slumped posture, every aspect of Jim’s grumpiness is expertly depicted.Through Jim’s journey, young readers learn valuable lessons about the importance of acknowledging and accepting their feelings, as well as the significance of friendship and support. ð¤

Lori Mior –
My toddler grandson positively LOVES this book! Mostly because he loves animals and really enjoys saying “GRUMPY Monkey” (LOL). At almost two, he’s still a little young to sit through all the words but we have a great time pointing out all of the animals, the colours are great, and Jim is pretty funny. Strongly recommend – great for talking about emotions.

We really like readying this to our baby on their grumpy days. Nice illustrations and good message, I would recommend it. Also the perfect length and not too repetitive for the adult reading it.
