Perfect addition to dog car seat!
I have a car seat for my 5 lb dog in both of our cars. It came with a nylon lead with plastic latches on it. It just didnât seem safe or secure and I was concerned of itâs ability to hold up over time and perform in an emergency.I decided to upgrade that connector and got this. It works perfect! My SUV has the latches on the back of the backseat where her car seat is installed. I have it hooked to the latch system and then fed though the headrest and she clips right in. The strap is durable, the clasps are heavy duty and I feel much better about her being secured to the latch than just a cheaply sewn in nylon strap. We got another for our other car and was able to connect it to the latch system between the seat and feed it up and around the headrest.The adjustable length made it easy to use in both of our cars. It seems like it will last a really long time and we all feel better about our dogs safety when sheâs hooked up to it. She still gets the comfort of her car seat and we get the peace of mind knowing that sheâs strapped in securely.

This thing really works
We have an exuberant, active 105 lb young Great Dane/Lab mix. He’s hard to control in the car. We’ve tried several harnesses and leashes to confine him to the backseat and he’s broken them all — a few miles down the road and we are struggling to keep him from climbing into our laps in the front seat.I knew there was a latch under the backseat, only because my daughter uses the latch in her car to hook her children’s car seats. I figured it might be strong enough to hold him. A quick search and I found this tether. I hooked it on the latch under the cushion in the back seat. I made it as long as it would go. And it held!The dog can look out the back window, and he can even put his head out the window. He can get close enough to me in the front seat to lick my ear. But we’ve gone on several jaunts with his harness hooked to the tether, and he has not broken it. (Not for want of trying.) It’s strong and it holds him. He stays in the backseat where he belongs.When we arrive at our destination and open the door, he jumps out — but it even holds him there. He’s stuck to this tether until I release him.If we had an accident, I am confident this tether would hold him and prevent him from becoming a dangerous projectile in the car.Very satisfied with this purchase.

Works great, I gave it 4 instead of 5 because I wish it would get shorter. I have it maxed out as short as it will go and if I had to panic stop my dog would slide off the seat.

Exactly what I needed
I needed tethers that hook to the steel bars because I have a new puppy and a 9 year old dog.Also, I like that these don’t have a stretchy component, for the same reasons. I needed to keep the teething puppy from playing bitey face with older one & to keep the older dog from stomping on the puppy when he sees dogs, cows, horses, and deer and gets super excited. Being able to adjust the length and giving me more options on where to clip the hooks helps separate the two more than the kind that clip into the seatbelts. Exactly what I needed. They can still snuggle if they want to, but they also have personal space when they need it (mostly when the 9 year old needs it).

This product is nicely made and works well in keeping your dog in one place in your car. I attached it to the center of the back seat and to the frame like a car seat. My dog doesn’t jump out of the car when i open the back door now.
