Wonderful product
First off, I probably still would have liked this product without the app, but the app is a very nice quality of life feature. I like being able to change the sound, volume, light color, and brightness with a few taps.
It seems easier to use if it stays plugged in, but I’m also someone who still prefers wired headsets.
The light color has several different options, however we keep ours on red since red doesn’t degrade night vision. We are currently using it in our room by our baby’s crib.
I recommend playing around with it before using it at night. Some sounds are much louder than others even if you set them to the same volume.

Better than the competition
I love this product and I have no idea why anyone would pay twice as much for the hatch (admittedly Iâve never used the hatch, but just from my experience with this product and reading reviews of the hatch).
Please note that if youâre considering buying this and reading the few less than 5 star reviews, the issues those people were having were one off. I have no trouble using the app or Bluetooth while plugged in, and seeing as I use it at home thatâs primarily what Iâm doing unless I need the outlet. One issue is that the charge could last longer (about a day or so on one charge), but compared with the hatch that doesnât have a battery, how could I complain? and as for the person who said the hatch was better⦠they said didnât download the app. So Iâm guessing they donât know all the functionality available outside of the manual controls on the item. And Iâm guessing the same goes for the other person who said the lights were too bright or the volume was too loud, or whatever it was. Itâs all adjustable in the app!
I love the program/alarm feature to set ahead for gently waking up on a schedule to feed my newborn, being able to make presets to make quick adjustments (the womb sounds are great for my newborn), and the sleep timer if I want to turn it off after we fall asleep. My only complaint is that if itâs unplugged, as far as I can tell thereâs nowhere that updates you on the battery life. But again, the fact itâs portable at all is a bonus compared with the hatch so who cares, I just make a point of plugging it in regularly (I havenât actually had to take it with me anywhere but I will eventually). So yesâif youâre debating this versus the hatch for twice the money, I canât see any reason to buy the hatch over it.

Great dupe of the Hatch! Updateâ¦
Update: I received the Hatch Gen 2 as a gift, I can now say with certainty, that I do indeed prefer the hatch, however there are pros and cons to both. The momcozy will work in a power outage if fully charged beforehand, the hatch will shut off entirely without power/being plugged in so itâs also less portable. I still have not downloaded the mom cozy app for the sound machine because I simply donât want or need to, especially when all the tactical buttons on the machine make it effortless to use. The hatch NEEDS the app! I like the sound quality and dimmable light features better on the hatch than the mom cozy. And thatâs about it.
BOTTOM LINE: mom cozy is better price and better if you donât want to rely on Bluetooth and WiFi and have an extra app. Hatch is better sound, light control, app experience, and eventually will be a sleep trainer âok to riseâ scheduling for a young child. I would have been just fine without receiving the hatch as a gift and continued to use the mom cozy sound machine!

I debated buying this or the Hatch sound machine that looked almost exactly like it. Iâm SO GLAD I bought this! I had it on my baby registry, was able to use my completion discount, and it was on sale, so I got it for less than half the price of the hatch! To be clear, I never bought the hatch, so I have no idea how good it really is. BUT. The light choices are great, not too bright or dark, perfect for just the right amount of light for night time feedings. It might not be bright enough for night time diaper changes, but if thereâs another night light in the room, you might be fine. The 34 sound choices are great with adjustable volume. I love the tactical buttons on the machine, which means I DONâT need to download yet another app to my phone to control this. I can see why having the app is nice, but for right now, this machine is all we need. The charging device does have a backup battery so if power is out, or you have to take it to another room, you donât have to worry about bringing the whole cord along too.
If youâre looking for a sleep trainer, I would go for the hatch because of the programming and the app featuresâ¦but if you just need a sound machine and a nightlight that is simple and is easy to use, and half the price of the hatch, get this! Iâm glad I did!

Portable and powerful
This sound machine is easy to use manually or with the phone app. There are lots of sounds to choose from but we normally stick with the rain sound. There are buttons on the front to adjust the volume, sound, and to turn the machine on and off.
One of my favorite features is that it can be charged, making it ideal for travel. We have also had to turn it on a couple times when we lost power. Since it was fully charged it ran all night long. But Iâve found that the battery doesnât last for more than a day and a half before needing to be recharged.

Works very well! Easy to use, portable, colors are pretty, volume is great! Brightness works! Definitely helps with sleep! It gets knocked over by my son and dog and is still durable!

Sound machine works well, features need work
As a basic white noise machine, this works pretty well. Easy to use and multiple types of sounds to choose from.
Everything else about this needs improvement though.
The light has a few colors to choose from but whenever the light is turned on it has a very high frequency whine that is very obnoxious, like some small transformers have. I keep the light off and just use the sound.
The app was easy enough to set up but this too has a serious design flaw. The Bluetooth connection does not work when this device is plugged in to charge. When it is on battery it works fine. But if you leave it in one place plugged in, the Bluetooth does not work.
Overall Iâm disappointed with the product. If I just wanted the white noise I would have gone with a cheaper option since the other features all have big flaws .

I used to have to put baby to sleep in our bedroom and play YouTube lullabies until he would sleep and now he can be put to bed and sleep in his own room! This machine has so many choices itâs actually crazy and it is VERY loud when you need it to be. My little one can sleep really well with this machine! The color options are great you can dim the light or have it full blast. There is a fingerprint button on the top that you can place your finger on and it dims the light or brightens the light! I use the app on my phone to work the machine cause itâs just easier for me but if you donât have that option you have the buttons on the bottom of it you can switch through colors and sounds. If you do end up turning of the machine it wonât reset it which I love, it just goes to your selected music or noise and color that you had it on previously! In the app you can also pick favourites so you donât have to select which noise you want and color! Pick the noise and color and add it to your favourites and voila! The size was smaller than I expected but I also was expecting a boom box to come in the mail! For how loud it can be the machine is perfect size! I take it with me in his baby bag or when I travel I put it in my check on!

I decided to buy this machine as I needed a lamp and a white noise machine. And I’m so glad i found it. The 2 white noise machines that I have always turns off its own and it’s not easy to move and stretch to turn it back on while carrying/feeding a light sleeper baby. It has many sound options though I frequently use the lullaby option and turn on the white orangey light. I love how I can control the intensity of the light as well, to the dimmest when my 7mo is asleep. And I would lower down the volume before turning it off eventually too. Sometimes when my son is awake, I would play the good morning sound and on the colourful lights just for fun. There’s also a timer option for when I want the machine to switch off but I’ve not use it yet. I wish I have gotten this machine sooner. The only thing that I wish for is for my husband to be able to pair the machine to his phone without the app logging me out automatically. It seems that only 1 person can pair it to their phone. But it’s okay, when my phone is out of reach, I can physically press the on button and it will auto on to the previous setting. If you’re thinking of a smart white noise machine that doubles up as a lamp, this is it!
