I have a friend who teaches special needs kids and so we are always on the lookout for interesting new teaching materials. These building blocks from VIGORFUN are one of the traditional toys going back generations but they still have a new creative aspect to them.Most of the blocks are cubes but there are some double cubes and flat half double cubes for variety. Each square type cube block has a side of about inch and an eighth. They are nicely finished off with flat sides and smooth edges. They are painted in a wide variety of colors that could mostly be described as bright pastels. They are almost primary, high saturation colors but they are toned down a level or two to make them softer on the eye. This make the whole set look really good since the colors are harmonious with each other. So after tiny hands have built a small residential development, they should have a good sense of pride in their creativity as it all blends together.Many of the blocks have architectural elements and other designs colored on to them to suggest arches or doors etc. That means there is an infinite choice of ideas while they are building.This is a lovely set that should keep tiny architects busy for hours.

So adorable!
This block set is so sweet. The designs are really adorable and make the kids really stop to think about what’s on them, what they go with, and where to put them on the map. Our 4-year-old thinks the colors are much more fun than her old sets, and the 12-month-old found them endlessly fascinating to dig through. It’s not advertised for his age or anything, but there are a few pieces that are right in the grey area size-wise, so we mostly keep him away from it unless he’s got his paci in and can’t put anything else in his mouth. Such a beautiful set!

A feel good toy
My dog initially thought this might be a toy for him thatâs why heâs hanging out in one of the pictures. I got these for my grand children to play with when they come over. I love this set of blocks. I like the stenciled images on the different blocks. It gives you the opportunity to figure out where they âbelongâ in the building or the city. These blocks are not huge but there are a lot of them so I didnât miss it that they werenât bigger. The blocks themselves are beautifully finished, the colors are bright and they just feel good to the touch. They remind me of blocks I had when I was little. I like the blocks that are cut out as trees or a car. Very cool. The only thing that bugged me was the puzzle piece mat that you lay out to build on. I have be honest I was struggling. First off I wanted all my roads to line up and they didnât and then I wanted the colors connected and they werenât. What the HECK! Can I get a city planner over here? Not being able to get the puzzle mat assembled the way I wanted took some of the wind out of my sails before I started building anything. I still like the blocks a lot but I fervently hate the puzzle. In a nutshell, beautiful block set with complimentary puzzle mat that requires a city planner to assemble.

This is a cute and colorful building block set. It is a little village with cars but no people. That is the one thing that is lacking. The box states that it is for ages 3+ but as there are no small parts I think it would be ok for younger kids.

Wonderful colors
I really like the clean colors they used on these blocks. They’re much more vibrant and inviting than other sets I’ve had. The size is large enough that I don’t have to worry about littles mouthing them (although I always supervise of course) and they’re nontoxic, too. They’re nicely packaged for storage as well as gift giving. I like how high quality the wood feels in hand and how smoothly finished each piece is. This feels like a super high end product at a reasonable price. I’ll definitely order more for the birthdays and baby showers I’ve got coming up.

I love these blocks! Theyâre so unique and creative. Little ones will enjoy stacking and color recognition, and older children will enjoy creating a city.I was so excited to find that the shapes exactly match our Melissa & Doug Classic Blocks set. The colors donât match, but they complement. So if you have the M&D blocks, these will be a great addition to build a huge city!The added touches like the little vehicles and stop lights are fun too.This is a great set and seems well made. Iâll update in the future if I have any issues with paint chipping at all.
