The head won’t stay out unless you hold it down
I’m not sure if I received a defective brush or this is the intended design, but the blade will not stay out unless the head is being pressed from the back. I would have imagined it has to be a one-press use/retreat, but it will not stay out. I even took it apart to check the mechanisms, but it won’t stay put. So the entire time combing, you have to press down on the back to keep the blade out. It’s unfortunate as the brush itself seems nicely designed. It’s light, has a nice long handle, and the cat seems to enjoy the feel of the brush head. It removes fur pretty well. But using this while pressing down on the blade the entire time is too much hassle, and makes it impossible to use it simply and easily.

It works but it’s not my favorite
I am a rescuer and have many animals. This also means lots of hair. I’m always looking for an amazing deshedding tool so I picked this. The quality feels OK. Not great but not awful. The comb does work well and I like the self cleaning aspect. What I’m not stoked about is how it feels in my hand. The handle is fairly long and thin which means the comb and it’s housing make for very uneven weight distribution. It’s certainly not heavy, however, one end is significantly heavier than the other making the hand tired if you brush for awhile. It also means it is heavier on the animals. I have some other tools that I just like the feel of better.

The cat loves this!
Itâs shedding season so I needed this. A regular cat comb doesnât get much of the loose fur. My cat likes the way this feels, plus she likes the treat I give her when we finish.It doesnât come with any instructions or warnings. I figure a light pressure would be best because the tiny teeth are very sharp. I wouldnât let a young child use it.I love this tool because itâs self-cleaning. Brush the cat, hit the bar to retract the teeth, slide the gob of fur off the top, give the cat a treat, give me a treat.
