How did we get started?
Yogasleep started in 1962 with love and a dog bowl! Our founder, Jim Buckwalter, was a traveling salesman. His insomniac wife liked to travel with him. She learned that the soothing lull of the air conditioner unit helped her get to sleep. Jim loved to tinker, & got to work creating the very first sound machine that replicated the constant whirring noise of moving air with none of the disturbance of actual moving air. And thus, the Dohm was born!

It is thick plastic, makes white noise by pushing air through holes, and you can adjust the volume a little bit by rotating the top half. Also a nice mental reminder for me to sleep and my roommate to stfu.

Muffles train horn!
We built a new home and while weâre building, we NEVER heard the train. Once we moved it- we can hear it! A mile away! The guest room is at the back of the home, so I bought this for my guests. My parents used it and said it was perfect! Simple, on off switch and just slightly turn to make louder or softer!

Perfectly Not So Perfect! Ordered it in a 120v 60hz version. Iâm stationed in a place that uses that voltage and frequency in a controlled electrical environment. Iâve used this type for over 30 years in different environments. My new unit did the job âPerfectlyâ, drowning out the appropriate sounds so that I could sleep. It is a proven design that uses a perfectly designed housing, aluminum fan and a shaded pole motorâ¦so it seemed. After two months of use, it gave up the ghost. I was speechless. I even checked out our power history to make sure the device got what it needed. It did. Knowing that I couldnât send it back. (We only receive stuff and canât send it back) I decided to do a root cause analysis and found the deficiency in the motor. Specifically the winding. (I used to design these shaded pole motors). I was also disappointed to find that the motor wasnât 60/50 hertz rated. ( even though it could actually do so with about a 20% theoretically rotational speed loss.) Anyway, I digress. It could be that I just received a bad motorâ¦but Iâm more prone to believe that this isnât the first time that they have heard of this problem. Common folks! Shaded pole motors arenât that expensive. Could you come up with a dual voltageModel? It would make it a lot easier on us folks that rely on your product as we fix things around the world. Just a thought. Do I stillThink you have a great product? Yes! Could you improve on the QA of your tier one supplier? Absolutely. Sorry to give you a 1 star rating, but youâve let me downâ¦and Iâm disappointed.

Easy to Use, Calming
It is compact enough to take on vacation. You twist the cover to adjust the volume, which is unique to me. We placed it about 6 feet from our bed and have the control wide open. It provides enough volume at this distance.

Just as good as my old one. Bought this as a replacement for my 10+ year old Original version in which the fan was starting to rattle. I hope to enjoy this new one for many more years! My newest sleep apnea machine seems to make more background noise than my former one. This little device is able to cover that sound well, and drowns out many other sounds that could wake my wife.It’s a great buy if you simply want a constant white noise to help you remain asleep.Despite the name, I do not do Yoga with this machine, unless downward man sleeping counts.
