It’s a mattress pad
It does exactly what it says it will do and that’s to protect the actual baby mattress. It is easy to wash, you just pop it in the washer and voila, then put it in the dryer at a low setting for 50 mins. It’s soft but still firm enough for babies. It fits over the baby mattress exactly as it should. The quality seems pretty good for the price.

Finally found THE perfect crib mattress protector – it’s whisper-quiet (no crinkly plastic sounds!), genuinely waterproof, and stays securely in place night after night. The mesh isn’t rough, and after six months of constant washing, it still looks and performs like new – trust me, you’ll want to buy a backup because it’s that good!

Fit well no funky smells
Often when you pick up these types of waterproof products there is a lingering manufacturer smell. I could not detect that from this protector. That is awesome. The protector fits perfectly over the mattress. It does make a little bit of sound almost like a slight crackling. Not too loud or bothersome but it lets you know it is there. We use a microfiber sheet over top so no worries.As far as waterproof we’ve been blessed with a baby that has yet to wet through the diaper so that hasn’t been tested. She is currently cutting her first teeth so we do have plenty of drool. I’m proud to exclaim that this protector operates perfect and our crib mattress is dry and clean. Love it. Can’t miss with this.

Overall, I like this mattress protector. The product description mentions how the soft material is good for sleeping on, which sounds nice, however I still want to make sure to put a sheet over it for 2 reasons.1. My snug crib sheets help to keep the mattress protectors completely secure. Yes, this has elastic all around and has an ok fit, but I wish it could be a little bit more snug still.2. I worry that a baby could catch a fingernail or something on the mesh. Is it unlikely? Probably? But I’d prefer just to have a flat, smooth cotton sheet.So. Overall it is still a nice thing, but as a mattress protector under a sheet and not on it’s own for me.
