Brightness outweighs other issues
Cons: a handle is a bit bulky and heavier than I’d like, would def not say it’s ergonomic as advertised.I have a 12 lb Shih tzu and he has to pull just a little bit harder to get the leash to extend compared to his usual leash, so it’s not the best for smaller dogs. The break and hold are also slightly difficult to engage and disengage.I also find the retraction and extension of the leash is noisier than I like or am used to. Wish it were quieter when I use this in the middle of the night at my apt with windows close to the sidewalk so I worry people will hear.The light is only activated by finger touch so when it’s freezing and I’m wearing my mittens (i.e. not my screen friendly gloves) I have to take them off to turn the light on. I’d rather only use the light when I’m picking up poop, not the whole time of a walk so this touch on/off is inconvenient.I wish this one could replace and be the only leash I use but because of these issues I only use this leash at night and use another during the day.Pros: I’ve tried a couple other flashlight leashes and attachments and this is definitely the brightest and best one for lighting. Don’t know how many lumens but it’s much brighter than one I tried that was listed as 50 lm. I’d guess this is 100?I like that the light is built in. I’ve used flashlights before and having it all in one is just easier to manage. Others complain that the light would be better positioned above the leash rather than under it because the leash causes a shadow but I don’t find it to be an issue because my dog and thus the leash aren’t right in front of me when I’m picking up poop. Also, if you turn it upside down it has the same issues so it’s not an easily solved problem.No issues with having to recharge. I’ve been using it about a month and granted not for long periods of time, but I still haven’t had to charge it or had any lighting issues, even after being in the bitter cold, so it’s not something you have to charge every other day.I like that it’s retractable, that’s the only leash I’ll use, and it’s 16 ft, which is a good length.Despite all the annoying cons and this not being my ideal leash for a smaller dog (those will bigger dogs won’t have some of my complaints), the number 1 feature I was looking for was a bright, hands-free built in light and this product wins in that category especially compared to other flashlight leashes I’ve tried.

This is a great leash. I love that’s it’s rechargeable. The light options are super cool. If you walk for 30 minutes with color lights and flash light, you will have to recharge by 3rd walk.

This feels like a very sturdy and high quality leash. My dog is a bit rough at times so she always manages to get herself tangled up but the leash seems to resist creating knots on itself, making it easy to untangle her in and keep in good condition. The lights on it are decently bright but very sensitive to activate. Always finding myself activating the lights by accident since I am right handed and the light trigger is on the left side meaning if it touches my body it will turn on the RGB and flash light. The design looks nice and the functionality of it is top tier so it’s the best leash I have found so far to use. Will probably buy another in the future if my dog ruins this one quickly.

My biggest complaint is that the lights turn on too easily. It’d be better if it was a switch but the tap/touch to turn on function means the colour lights are accidentally being changed or the flashlight is needlessly turned on during the day.Also I got it for the flashlight function of being able to find the poop in the dark easier but the placement of the light is below the leash so it’s often blocking the beam of light.After almost a year of use I’m finding the latch to stop the leash from continuing to extend is harder to engage and gives me less confidence in its ability to stop when needed (which is unfortunate because it was very easy to use when first purchased).
