EXCELLENT!!! THIS IS A STRONG LEASH
Finally!! I’m so ecstatic over this 6 foot long retractable leash. I’ve gone through so many retractables, I’m able to fill a large box with all of the broken ones. This was due to my very big and strong “puppy” German Sheprador. My dog is a “puller” and every leash would get broken within the first few days. Not this one. He has yet to break it, and I think this is the one that he won’t be able to break. I woke up one morning, was feeling brave, it was early so it was still dark out, so I thought this is the perfect time to try out this new leash and take him for a walk, usually reserved strictly for my husband, just because the dog is too strong for me and when he pulls, he pulls me so hard that either id be forced to let go of the leash or have it ripped out of my hand, as he took off after whatever it was he was chasing. But I felt confident enough with this leash, figured it was too early to run into other neighbors walking their dogs (5:00 AM), and the product description said it was very larger dogs, so , we headed out on an hour long walk and for the first 50 minutes, all was good. He likes to walk ahead of me, and this leash is 6 feet long, so it enabled him to walk that far ahead of me without it forcing me to pick up my pace. I can’t walk that fast anymore due to a recent break of my foot. Towards the end of the walk , we ran into two people, a walker and a jogger. BOTH times, my dog wanted to chase after them to say hi. His greetings usually involves him jumping up on the person and no one wants that. Unfortunately, regardless of how strong I held onto the leash, he was strong enough to rip it out of my hand. Normally, this would be enough to break the retractable leash, but nope. Not this time, or these 2 times. Both times he pulled me so hard that I fell , backwards one time, face plant the other. But… while my confidence has been broken, THE LEASH WAS NOT. WHAT?? My brute of a dog didn’t break this retractable? Yay!!! I love it. I won’t go into the ugly details of how humiliated I was each time he got loose from me and chased a neighbor, but I will say that after 2 hard pulls, more like jerks, and dragging the retractable handle behind him down the cement sidewalk and road and in between neighbors houses chasing a cat, that the leash (and dog) came back IN TACT. No tears no rips no breaks. I’m almost in disbelief myself, so if you’re looking for a super durable long retractable, look no further. This is the one.

Great long leash with large comfortable grip
I have a very similar retractible leash to this one that I’ve been using for years that still works well, but the problem is the grip is smaller and it’s nearly impossible to hold securely and be able to use the stop button when it’s cold and I’m wearing gloves or mittens. There have been a few occasions when my dog suddenly pulled and he yanked the leash out of my hand.This Fida leash is fantastic. At 30-feet, it’s 5-feet longer than my old leash, giving the dog plenty of slack to sniff and explore. The best feature as far as I’m concerned is the handle grip. It’s much larger than my other leash so even with thick winter gloves or mittens I can get my hand in and grip it tightly.Even with gloves, the stop button is easy to press so I can keep the leash at a fixed length.Another thing I like a lot about this is how the lock works. With the stop button depressed, you just slide your thumb forward to lock the leash so it won’t extend more, or slide it back to release the cord. Easy and simple one-handed operation. My old leash had a push lock that required two hands to operate.The nylon cord might seem thin if you’re not used to the long leashes, but they’re mighty strong. It’s exactly like the cord on my old leash that has held my strong, large dogs with no sign or wear or weakness after over 20 years of use.If you want an extra long and strong retractable lease, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this one by Fida.

Smooth, Quiet Operation to Let My Dog Run a Little
Not everyone is a fan of these retractable dog leashes with people concerned about the negative effect they might have on the âpullingâ behavior of dogs. The notion is that when a dog pulls against one, he/she is rewarded by getting more leash. Maybe for some dogs thatâs true, but it seems just the opposite of that for our year and a half old dog. He generally stays within thirty feet of me during a walk, so this leash doesnât get fully extended that often. And because it lets him explore some interesting smell, he will until he sees me getting too far away. Then, he runs to catch up or pass, but tends to stop when heâs ten-twenty feet ahead. Basically, he doesnât pull nearly as much as when heâs on a short leash and he gets a chance to run a bit. No, itâs not a hard workout, but itâs something when opportunities to run are limited in our residential community. As for the leash itself, it seems well made and operates smoothly and quietly.
