Great product
This review is borne out of stupidity- mine, all mine. So Deazle is a senior dog who we take for physical therapy 1-2 times a week. Our precious boy needs to be lifted into the car for our trip to PT and so I remove his collar and leash before lifting his 92 pounds into our car. So for the 2nd time, I put his leash on the roof of the car, lifted him in and of course, left the leash on the roof as I obliviously drove off. So, this is the 3rd leash I’ve purchased in 2 years and it is actually, the best. The price was great. The leash is ergonomically well designed and very comfortable in my hand. The slide controlling the leash is easily controlled by my thumb and moves smoothly and effortlessly. While Deazle no longer strains at the leash or pulls, the ribbon extender of 25-26 feet is strong and I believe will withstand the strength of a younger, healthier dog. While I hope not to have to, I would buy this leash over and over. It is a great value given the construction, fit and finish and the low purchase price.

Well built
Really well built….we used it on our biggest dogs around 100 lbs. and it handled them easily

Basically junk. Jammed immediately, and broke after only 42 days.
Every retractable leash I have ever used suffers from the same problem. This one is no exception. The leash only retracts properly if the tape lies perfectly flat. Due to bad design, the tape on folds over as soon as you start to use it. See the picture. This jams the mechanism and leaves you with several feet of leash lying on the ground. My dog, then gets his legs tangled in it, and I have to manually sort things out. Over and over and over. It’s also cheaply made, and despite being marketed as “strong” and for dogs up to 110 pounds, the tape simply snapped off the handle after only 42 days of use with my 60-pound dog. This was exactly twelve days after the return period closed, so I’m stuck. In my experience, this is a cheaply made piece of junk that is designed to last just long enough to be unreturnable. The only way to get this leash to actually retract is to manually flatten out the tape with one hand as it coils up while holding the lease with the other. This is a real pain, and something you have to repeat over and over during the course of walking your dog. I do not recommend this leash. Iâm sorry I bought it.

Works well
Works well, the line sometimes twists and it doesnât retract immediately but this is only a minor issue. Sturdy, I walk my large breed dogs with it. Comfortable hand grip.

Not as good as other leashes I have owned or used
This leash has a tendency to get stuck when retracting, as it bunches up in the corners, sometimes. There is no actual lock mechanism (just a temporary brake button), unlike other such leashes that I have used, so if you have a preferred length of leash that you want to let out, you have to constantly hold the button down to keep it at that length. That’s not particularly a big deal, just kind of a strange absence for a common feature.2023-09-13: I am amending this review because I discovered, through my fumbling, that there is actually a lock. Honestly, this leash probably came with instructions which I must have immediately discarded, because it’s just a leash, right? I suspect that it was detailed in there. In any case, it still doesn’t retract all that reliably, and requires a lot of fiddling. It also doesn’t seem to retract all that well after not having owned if for very long. I will probably replace it with something better and relegate it to secondary leash status.

Slightly decent backup/budget leash
Soooo, the actual material for the leash is strong&the reflective paint stayed on relatively well… nooow for the good stuff, the handle is comfortable, locking mechanism is awkward, the main problem I have with it is the recoil is so weak that if the wind is even slightly stronger than a baby blowing out a birthday candle then the leash will NOT rewind at all unless you manually feed it. It gets the rating it has cause for a decent price it is decently durable BUT the recoil is what keeps it from a 4 star review. Good budget/backup leash though. Only had for 4 months and it’s already wearing out. It worked okay for me for about I don’t know maaaaybe 2 weeks before the recoil spring basically all but stopped working. Soo summary, decent leash for medium doggos, locks up frequently, recoil is about as good as an eraser for a permanent marker. Comfortable handle, but after 4 months I’m over it and am willing to spend the big money for a good one.

Great so far
This is the 3rd extendo-leash I’ve bought for my now 2 year old Collie. The last two were 16′ models, and my puppy loved to hold the leash in her mouth and run full speed to the limit, spin around, and do the same thing 32′ the other way. Quite the yank for an old guy like me. Although she didn’t chew the leashes, they ultimately were shredded because of her habit. This leash has so far solved the problem. So far, she doesn’t go the extra 10′ this leash provides, and unlike the other model I ordered and returned, the pause and lock mechanisms on this lease are easy to use. It’s a little heavy compared to the last one I had, but I’m hoping that’s due to a stronger recoil spring and construction. Both my dog and I love it so far.
