Leash stopped retracting after 6 weeks.
This leash has lots of nice features. The light is very helpful when walking our dog in the dark. It is made with sturdy construction. However, it stopped retracting after only 6 weeks. Now we are unable to use the leash because it is fully extended and drags the ground.

I was needing a leash with a good, bright flashlight for evening walks and locating those little piles. The last few years I had a bag holder that had a nice rechargeable light but it’s now coming apart randomly dropping the bags which is a total pain! I looked to replace that but could not find another one when I came across leashes with lights. I was looking for rechargeable, with a bag holder and longer than 16’. Most of them had very poor reviews especially when it came to the light. I decided on this one and am happy I did! It’s a bit heavier but that’s to be expected the quality is very nice, retracts well and although several people mentioned it was difficult to lock quickly it’s very easy, you just push the button down if you want to keep it locked then simply slide forward. Color and size are perfect. The only thing I would change is how the light is turned on and off. Being a touch on/off if it bumps into something or you happen to put your hand on that side it reacts turning on/off. It would be nice if it was a button or switch not so easily changed. Otherwise this is a great leash with a nice, rechargeable, bright light of good quality I think will last.

I have mixed feelings about this product
The good things about this product:It feels sturdy and good quality, it also has the hold leash button function which you can use easily and has a slide function that let’s you keep it like that without you having to hold it, it’s also pretty useful, this is about the 4 retractable dog leash that I have owned and this feels a better quality than the others that I had, it’s also a good price, the LED light is pretty useful when is dark however it has some disadvantages. The bad thing about this product:To turn on the LED light you have to tap twice on one side of the handle which in fact is cool, but practically is not that great, why? because that LED light turn on every time it hits something, and sometimes when my dog is pulling and that light gets on, I get so frustrated and having to turn it off with two taps is also frustrating specially when you are in a rush, in my opinion there should be a slide button or something similar that doesn’t make the led light to turn on by itself.

Do not Buy!!!
The very 1st use, the “non chew” lead pulled apart while taking my dog out. Busy intersection, it was almost a very bad day. Light is bright. Barely any retraction, weak. If the wind blows it stops leash from retracting automatically.

The light is bright and the beam is wide. It’s been a couple of weeks and I haven’t needed to recharge.The ribbon sometimes twists when reeled in. Also sometimes it’s slow to reel in… especially when the ribbon gets wet.Hopefully this lasts me a couple of years like my previous (different) leash.Update, January 2025: Only lasted 3 months! The ribbon barely retracts anymore. My dog didn’t even pull. I won’t be buying this brand again. My previous ribbon retractable leash (different brand) lasted 2 years before the lock broke. The recoil was still strong after 2 years. This one shouldn’t be failing after only 3 months.
