Perfect for Xtra small dog!
We have bought a number of retractable leashes over the last 12 years of my minpin Tyson’s life and the biggest problem we always run into is that while they work no problem what happens is that the automatic tension that is there as soon as you connect the leash to the dog or cats collar it is immediately tugging on his neck collar. This has always been a problem for us as we don’t want him to think we are constantly pulling on him even that little bit but it’s much worse now because he will be 13 in 2 months and he’s a small minpin and has a lower spine AND a neck problem. So even just that little bit of tension on his neck was clearly affecting how he’d react when we’d walk him. So I started shopping around and found articles saying that cord style leashes would at least be better than the ribbon ones wich by the way seemed to be a much more difficult task than I thought it would be to find 1! So I finally came across Flexi retractable leash CORD style with neon color. And the part that you hold is even mini itself I think the circle part is maybe 4 inches tall and 4 inches wide and inch thick! With the handle part depending how big of a hand and fingers you have is only big enough for me to stick 3 fingers into or 2 if I’m wearing gloves! So it is perfect! And the absolute best part is that the tension on this size in particular has next to zero tension so when I connect it to his collar I barely see :his collar budge at all. And the neon color cord is so easy to see! This is the best SMALL or extra small dog or cats. Only thing I do wish it had was a small flashlight even if it was a stick on battery one. But luckily I had an old one… Thank you FLEXI BRAND!

Excellent Dog Leash
This leash is like the original, and it has a heavier cord and latch. The bright color makes it easy to see when you’re walking your dog at night.

Lightweight but Strong
We have the smaller version of this leash and love them both. The thumb controls for length stop/lock/release are perfectly positioned to make them easy to use. The only suggestion I would add is to place the high visibility coating (like on the small size) on both side of the body for increased safety.

XS size, handle too small
I really like these retractable leases, we are using them for the last 5 years. However I really don’t like that the handles are so small, only 3 fingers fit in. Even harder for my husband, his 3 fingers get stuck and when he needs to change hands, he dropped the leash several times. That’s why at first we tried to use size small and medium. The problem though is that their cord is 16 feet long, not 10. I don’t feel safe having my dogs be so far from me. Even if my dogs were larger, I wouldn’t want that. That’s my main issue with this wonderful product. Otherwise they work just fine, and look good. None of them broke so far.

We had not noticed in the pictures that there is about 1-2 ft of the leash that doesnât retract. Not great for kids when they need to keep the dog right next to them
