Maurice Sendak’s Caldecott Medal-winning picture book has become one of the most highly acclaimed and best-loved children’s books of all time. A must for every child’s bookshelf.

This iconic story has inspired a movie, an opera, and the imagination of generations. When Max dresses in his wolf suit and causes havoc in the house, his mother sends him to bed. From there, Max sets sail to an island inhabited by the Wild Things, who name him king and share a wild rumpus with him. But then from far away across the world, Max smells good things to eat…

Let the wild rumpus continue as this classic comes to life like never before with new reproductions of Maurice Sendak’s artwork. Astonishing state-of-the-art technology faithfully captures the color and detail of the original illustrations. Sendak himself enthusiastically endorsed this impressive new interpretation of his art.

Mary Pols of Time magazine wrote that “what makes Sendak’s book so compelling is its grounding effect: Max has a tantrum and in a flight of fancy visits his wild side, but he is pulled back by a belief in parental love to a supper ‘still hot.” Generations have shared this beautiful picture book, and children of all ages will want to return to it again and again.

New York Public Library’s #4 book on the list of “Top Check Outs of All Time”One of the National Education Association’s “Teachers’ Top 100 Books for Children”The top picture book in School Library Journal’s survey of its readers

Maurice Sendak was also the creator of such classics as In the Night Kitchen, Outside Over There, Higglety Pigglety Pop!, and Nutshell Library.

JerryRigEverything donation to sponsor Kenya Library
JerryRigEverything (Youtube channel) was building a brand new 19,000 book size facility in Doldol, Kenya for children ages 5-16.They don’t have enough literacy in Kenya, so Zach (the YT channel owner who built this library) was looking for donations from folks abroad. And this is one of the books (sets) that I donated.Children’s books like these were building blocks for children like myself to form good values and learn lessons that would serve us later in life. And this is the perfect type of reading material for young impressionable minds. I fondly remember turning back the colorful pages of text books like this during my youth. You simply can’t go wrong with this purchase. It applies to any generation.

    From my childhood to his..
Very happy I purchased this book. My child and I watched the movie the other day and I was very pleased with the film as well. From what I remember, the book had more words, but then again I was a lot younger. I placed a water bottle above the book for a size comparison. I love paperback better than hardcover because it is easier to flip through pages. Proud to be adding this childhood favorite to our collection.

I love this story, you don’t even have to speak English to buy this book, there’s only a few text parts. The story expresses itself among colorful pictures of the amazing artist Maurice Sendak. Book is beautiful and high quality. But the packaging was so bad that I had to return it. Book cover was almost completely ripped off and there was red stains on the top of the front side. I changed it with the same product, hope it will arrive safely this time 🤞
