Interesting Texture
This crib protector has two thick layers. The one closest to mattress is flat and then the top layer is mesh. I tested it by laying on it to make sure the texture didnât feel course or bunny and it does not. Thereâs a slight padding to the mesh that is comfortable. Upon opening it smelled for a second but nothing terrible. I washed and air dried with no issues. On the crib there is no sound or crinkling noises that would disturb baby. It helps with spills and accidents but I also like it doesnât hold or allow for bacteria growth. Overall I am happy with this crib mattress protector.

Quiet with mesh layer top to keep for cooling
Like that its doesnât have that plastic rigid feel to it. Itâs soft and protects well. The mesh layered to is breathable so there is airflow between and will help keep the mattress top cool on warmer nights. Has a smell to it when you first open it, wash first before putting it on your babyâs crib mattress.

Doesn’t fit snugly
I must say, I’m surprised at all the positive review of this product. I find that it doesn’t fit the mattress snugly enough, resulting in a lot of extra fabric puffing up on the sides, which I don’t feel is safe for a newborn. I have a standard size crib mattress, so I’m not sure why others don’t have the same issue. The one photo I see of the mattress pad on a mattress also looks like it has a lot of extra fabric though and isn’t fitting snugly. Overall, I would opt for a different one that fits more tightly to the mattress just to be on the safe side.

Double Edged Sword
This is less likely to suffocate baby… I definitely agree with that, but it has a whole host of negatives that normal sheets don’t have.It’s not comfortable. The puffed-up part of the fabric that baby will rest on presses into the skin a bit, it’s harder, and slightly itchy/scratchy. Other waterproof sheets that aren’t designed to be breathable like this are significantly softer and more comfortable to sleep on. Because our son is used to other sheets, he simply cannot sleep on this.There are other issues too. It’s harder to put onto a mattress, and it’s MUCH harder to clean. Because it has so much volume to it, it tends to scoop up and trap water in the wash, making the spin cycle ineffective at draining the water out. It tends to be sopping wet, and takes longer to dry.Get this ONLY if your child is young enough to be trained on it… if they’re used to standard sheets, the transition will be rough. Our son sleeps with his face crumpled into the mattress, and he always has since he learned to roll over. We tried to correct it, but ultimately found it much easier to put a pulse-oximeter sensor on him (to alarm us if somethings wrong) instead of pushing an uncomfortable bed/sheet.

Good quality Good price!
This was much thicker and a much higher quality than I thought it would be. It washed nicely and dried completely overnight on the indoor clothes line. The pattern and texture seem a bit strong and it does show through the crib sheets but it does not appear to be bothersome or uncomfortable for baby. Definitely waterproof! Would be a great baby gift! Practical and durable.
