Doggie love at first sight
Our dogs love this! I thought our puppy would get a kick out of it, and get her energy out with it, too, but even our 10-year old dog (the black one) was immediately intrigued. It has several modes which are signaled by a certain colored light, but the crazy mode is what we use most. It rolls by itself and lights up with different colors for a bit, and then stops until the dog paws at it. Then it goes nuts again! Good for dogs of all sizes; however, our smaller dogs cannot get it completely in their mouths. Love this one! Great Christmas present for your pooch!Update: In October, this cool toy quit working. When charging it, the green light comes on, and then, when attempting to press and hold the button for two seconds to start it, it will do nothing. Very disappointing, as our two dogs loved it.

Great, but not for my kitty…
The ball setup: At first, it was very easy to twist it open and take out the light pack to charge it. Then when I had to do was place it back in, after setting it to the desired mode, screwing it back on was not so easy. When in the ‘irregular’ mode, I can barely screw the ball back together. I found the light pack almost magnetizes to the inside of the blue half of the ball. Regardless, I can’t screw it back on. When in crazy, mode, I had zero issues getting it to screw back on. However… However, I got this light up ball as they said it can be for medium/large breed cats and I know cats who love lighted ball toys. My kitty is around 11 lbs, but I feel this ball may be too big for her. She has so far given it a ‘little’ bat. It’s a pretty hard plastic, I was expecting a bit of a ‘gummy’ type of plastic (one she could chew on a bit and then bat at). … ‘Crazy mode’ is really just as it implies, it’s ‘crazy’! Maybe…great for a dog, but not my kitty. She was scared of it, and actually I was too because I don’t feel it’s the safest mode for her. ‘Irregular’ mode is ‘okay’ but she just watches it. After ‘crazy’ mode, she’s a bit leery. Not sure if this will be her new toy. I’m just wishing for a somewhat more tame ‘crazy’ mode.

Clever
Very clever to keep a dog entertained. It may be too big and heavy for a tiny dog, but they could still enjoy seeing the ball move on its own as if by magic! I found the instructions a bit confusing, but maybe that’s just me. This ball will be a wonderful Christmas gift for any dog.

Fun
Ok I got this ball for my cat. She is notoriously picky about her toys and prefers taking my granddaughtersâ hair twisties and grandsonâs lacrosse ball. This was definitely a crazy ball. Kitty sat on her high perch and watched it but hasnât gotten down to play with it yet. The surprising part is that the grandchildren had so much fun with it. The toddler was intrigued first and then they all (ages 3, 7,9 and 10) started playing with it. The younger kids liked running after it then the older kids started making up elaborate games.
