I was hesitant getting this carrier because although it was rated very well and I loved the style, it just seemed too expensive. However, I decided to go for it for my new Chihuahua puppy. It was exactly what I was looking for. I love that itâs open with mesh so that the puppy can be exposed and present without getting overwhelmed. I love that it opens from the top as well as the front so I can create a little key for him for security or put him in at night For sleeping. Itâs great for transport and will definitely fit under any airline seat, although I donât plan on taking him. The inside has a pad that is washable. So you can take the pad out and then unzip it to wash it if needed. Itâs really soft material. Overall I think itâs great! Really love the it has both shoulder straps and a longer strap if you want to do a Crossbody. The straps are true rope. Really heavy actually! So itâs good quality.

I ultimately opted for this because the quality seemed better than others and for the size. It looks kinda big but not really.. Iâm hopeful that I wonât have issues with American Airlines. It didnât immediately strike me as âway too bigâ.. but may be a tight squeeze under the seat. My 18-19 lb pug fits in the large 19â size well. Heâs lean but kinda leggy/long so anything smaller wouldâve been uncomfortable. He is also not used to be caged.. so I have not closed the top on him yet.. gave him some treats while sitting in it.. used this in place of his car seat on a ride today.. trying to get him used to it. Iâm moving in June and it will be his first time flying.. Iâm crossing my fingers. I will update once the eagle has landed!UPDATE: no issue at all from American Airlines.. bag fit under the seat even better than I expected.. no squishing required.. it was an airbus A321. The biggest issue was my pug being hot inside the bag.. he was already a little worked up when he had to go in and then couldnât cool off once inside. I unzipped the end about 1/3 of the way to help and ended up fanning him with the safety pamphlet. I was going to get a small battery powered personal fan to take on the plane but it slipped my mind.. I wish I had cause that wouldâve help a lot. After a visit to the vet my pug weighs 20.5 lbs and fit perfect in the large 19â carrier. The shoulder strap that doubles as a leash is probably my favorite feature. Extremely convenient and allows you to let your dog out ASAP without rummaging through other bags etc. If your dog is on the larger side of small (20 lbs give or take) ⦠this bag is a safe bet.

I have a 22 lb Cockapoo mix and this was the only carrier I could find that both accommodated her weight and was large enough to zip her up inside comfortably. Our first leg of our travels was on a smaller plane (picture above), which actually ended up having more leg room than the standard 6 seat/aisle planes. Otherwise, on our longer flight, I had put the carrier short side in and the carrier was jutting out and pretty much taking up all the leg room (despite the under seat dimensions of the plane being listed as 19â x 19â).I do wish there were a couple of additional features:- expandable sides. Considering that this is pretty much the only airline approved carrier thatâs large and sturdy enough for dogs between 20-25 lb, it would be nice to give the dog a little extra room to turn and stretch out once inside- a luggage strap along one of the longer sides to use while putting the carrier on top of a suitcase- adjustable shoulder strap with padding. Iâm only 5â2â but even I found the shoulder strap to be a bit short. It also ended up bruising my shoulder given that thereâs no padding on the rope.- the top of the carrier has double zippers, but for some reason the side of the carrier only has a single which is kind of annoyingAll in all, I would use this again if I had to. I had no issue with it in our Delta flight. However, do know that the large size will take up a considerable amount of your leg room despite what Deltaâs aircraft dimensions report. I also really do wish it at the least had expandable sides.

Better than ever deisgn & outstanding customer service
This is my second purchase of a Roverlund pet carrier for my cats. It is the best carrier for overall quality construction and customer service. It wins for the best looking rugged bag BY FAR also! I had the same issue as other reviewers with my first bag purchased over a year ago collapsing on one end. I contacted Roverlund customer service and they quickly resolved the issue by sending me a simple plastic insert for the collapsing end pocket. In the meantime, I had used a stiff piece of cardboard. No big deal but I appreciated their eagerness to respond and their interest in my feedback on how to improve the carrier. The new carrier has updated design that solves this problem plus a few new upgrades.OLD vs NEW CARRIERI put my old carrier and new carrier side by side to see what is “new and improved”. Here you go!New carrier has the plastic insert already installed in the end pocket so the carrier stands up and does not collapse on our fur babyThe bag can still fold down flat for storageNew carrier has sharp looking larger heavy duty zippers .. safety first!New green fabric bands you see in the photos have replaced the black plastic bands on the rope handles and shoulder strap/leash.
