Small but works
Easy to lock and unlock. I wouldnât get this brand if you have an energetic or disobedient dog since itâs small and a little flimsy. Iâve had it about 6 months and no breaks or anything, but my dog doesnât pull away. If you have large hands, donât even bother bc itâs very small. I have small hands and find it to be small, but itâs good for me. Itâs cheap and works for me since I rarely have to leash my dog. No major complaints for the price.

DO NOT BUY THIS LEASH!!!!!!!!Even with the lock mechanism being easy to use and the fact that it was comfortable to hold, if I had the option, I would give it negative10 stars. I have a 12 week old puppy that weighs maybe 10lbs if that. We are getting a snow storm right now and it scared him and he freaked out and ran the first time I took him out. I didn’t put a leash on because he has always done his business and come right back to me so there is no reason to restrict him from running around, we have a 30 acre farm. Unless I am going to be leaving him alone outside even if only for a few minutes I will hook him up to a lead. However due to his acting up the first time he went out in the snow, I decided to leash him the second time so he wouldn’t go crazy and run off. We went out and I gave him 10ish feet and then locked the leash. The first time…THE FIRST TIME I put the leash on him and he tried to run further than that 10ft the leash broke instantly and he took off. Thankfully he comes as soon as I call his name. When I got him inside and I took his collar off I looked at the leash to see what happened I found the metal clip was perfectly and still attached to his collar but the leash itself was ripped apart at the seam that connects it to the hook. Hindsight is 20/20 & you get what you pay for. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS LEASH EVEN IF THERE IS LESS THAN A 1% CHANCE THAT YOUR DOG WILL PULL ON IT. If it will NOT hold a small puppy, I highly doubt it would even hold a 5lb chihuahua, let alone a full grown dog. Definitely a waste of money.

True to the description this leash, it is not suitable for large dogs. We have 2 dogs, one 12 lbs, one 25lbs. This is not the best leash for our situation, but for the price it is a good backup leash. The Airtag was a useful bonus.

Great price!
The retractable tape dog leash is everything it said it would be, at a very good price. We are using it to get our kitten outside and can’t run away and become lost or food for a hawk. The handle is very light weight and easy to hold. The locking required a little wiggle or extra push, but does a fine job.

Broke after a couple months
This worked fine at first. It was only $8 so what can you do. It finally gave out when my 22lb dog yanked too hard when I had it locked and the whole gear gave out. Now it doesn’t lock, but it also doesn’t retract so it’s basically useless.Again, it was $8 so not a big deal, and for lighter dogs that don’t pull it’s probably fine, but just beware.Also, I am not a big fan of the lock itself. It’s a little button that has to be pushed in and when you are trying to use it in a hurry it’s difficult to navigate. Oh well. $8, am I right?

Broke after 3 uses
The leash fit well in my hand (and my husbandâs hand), and worked well the first two times we used it with our 55 lb dog. Unfortunately, the next time we went out he saw a cat and went running after it. My husband pushed the button to lock the leash, but it didnât hold. And would not lock again, which makes it unusable in our neighborhood full of cars and other pets. It might work if you have a small dog, but it wasnât sturdy enough for us.
