Durable, fun, and safe for my dog
I have a 10 month old, 50 lb mutt who has the musculature of a pit bull and the muzzle of a GSD. Buttercupâs favorite past-time is shredding toys into teeny tiny bits, but sometimes those bits donât come back out of her mouth. She canât have tennis balls, stuffies, anything with a squeaker, silicone toys, plastic toys, rubber toys with spikes or small appendages, anything with rope, or most chews & bones. She chewed her first and only $8+ XL bully stick like a corn chip. Finding indoor enrichment is a challenge. Buttercup is extremely pleased with this tire tug thingy, it is very ergonomic for both her and me to get a handle on it, it has more movement than any other toy she can safely have, and itâs very durable. After more than a week, thereâs only a little bit of tread missing, which is definitely the best-case outcome with a super chewer. I think this is a good alternative to GoNut toys because itâs solid & dense while also a little bit easier & more interesting to play with, and very unlike GoNuts, this Tonka toy is very reasonably priced. I also think this itâs a good size for almost any breed of dogâI could definitely picture a little Boston or Frenchie dangling from one end. Highly recommended!

Tough!
My dog loves this! We play “tug” every night with it. She’s a tough chewer & she has nipped a few of the treads off, but it definitely is still intact. She also has a couple of “tires” by Tonka that we play fetch with & they last absolutely forever.

Finally a toy we can leave out!
There are very few toys that we can leave out for our 11 month old golden. Which is a shame because as a small puppy, we taught him to bring us a toy to initiate play instead of nipping. Ropes or stuffies never lasted more than a few minutes so they always had to be taken away. One time he brought us a benenbone to play tug. So I tried this as a last resort. Finally something we can keep out for him! Itâs not completely indestructible. He has figured out how to pull bits of tread off. But he chewed hard on it for a solid 20 minutes and itâs still intact with the exception of a few small tread pieces. Canât say that for 99% of the other dog toys on the market!UPDATE: OK, so it’s definitely not indestructible. After a few days of dedicated gnawing, he has almost chewed through the yellow ring so we can’t leave him too unsupervised with it. I’m still going to leave it as 5 stars since it’s the best tug toy that I have found so far and we have tried a lot! I may buy another one and just make sure I don’t let him freely chew on it for any length of time.

Tough toy, but the yellow tire broke at the seam
It was fun while it lasted and it got a lot of use, but it finally gave out after 6+/- months? Great tug toy. My dog is a 70# mutt with a strong bite and he’s chewed through pretty much every other toy he’s ever had. This one lasted longer than any of the others by quite a bit. He did zero chew damage to the tires, but the yellow tire in the middle broke at the seam. No tear, the seam just came undone at 90 degree angles. I’m going to look for something else this time but this wasn’t bad considering how long it lasted and it wasn’t very expensive. If I don’t find anything tougher, I may purchase another one of these down the road.

Dog can easily chew off bits of tires
We have another Tonka product that we love and wanted a different toy for our aggressive chewer. While the main wheel is good rubber and seems strong, the raised parts of the tire/wheels seem to be easy to chew off for our 2 year old 25 lb puppy. Itâs not as indestructible as a Kong black none. Going to try to return it

Really wanted this toy to be better…
I got this toy because I have 3 large dogs that all like to pull things. I can’t always play with them even though they follow me everywhere wanting to play, so I saw this toy and thought it would be good because it would give them something they can tug away at with each other. I saw the thick rubber and thought it would last awhile, but I was wrong. My German Shepherd and Pyrenees mix chewed though the first tire rather quick, and before I realized, I was finding chunks of tire around the house and yard. Thankfully, none of them tried to eat it. It seems like it could be a good toy for an aggressive chewer IF they are smaller and not as strong as these large dogs are, but it did not hold up long to mine.

I have a lab who destroys all toys usually with in hours of getting one, this toy is still going weeks later. We like to play tug with it and he likes to lay and chew on it. Well worth the money
