If your Dog chews the ribbon, it will break.. I have an Improvement!
I”ve purchased 4 of these now…Really love this item, but dog likes play chew it while bouncing around on walks..First one broke due to chewing and retracted into the reel so I couldn’t fix it…I purchased a 2nd and wrapped the end with enough duct tape so that he is discouraged from chewing and if it were to break, it would stop at the entry to the reel and I’ll be able to repair..’Added feature I’d like to see if a side pouch for phone, keys and treats when you don’t have pockets..Use this in rain and shine and it works perfectly… He’s finally figuring out what his range is so he’s not pulling my shoulder out…Really enjoying this as puppers has room to roam… the lock mechanism works well and very happy so far with the durability… good value..Well its October 31 and I got this in July… re-examining how this failed and it was not where the leash fabric is attached to the metal connector, but where he was chewing the leash..This doggy has regularly pulled this leash very hard as he’s running, so I’ll buy another and put something on the leash to keep him from teething on it.. Buying another… the mechanisms are rock solid on this product and I see this is a problem with other leashes of this typeJune 2024: Swimming with doggy in our lake for a few hours, submersing the Pecute..thought it was going to rust… Nope… still works like new.. In addition to adding a stop at the front of the ribbon, would be great to have a pocket attachment for keys or money..

Skeptical But Optimistic
The ribbon on the new leash is substantially narrower and thinner than my old leash, also rated at 33 lbs. In the photo you can see the top ribbon is the new one. The mechanism itself is also much lighter, implying more use of plasic. I will update this review in 6 months (or sooner).

It does not “auto lock” like the Daizzy Gear retractable dog leashes
Everything about it is fine, normal, most leashes are like this. But I prefer the Daizzy Gear because a push of the big main button makes it “auto lock”. Most leashes, and this one included, require you to slide the lock into place. Imagine trying to do that while your dog takes off running after a squirrel or something and is pulling. So, I prefer the Daizzy Gear that only requires the push of the big, easy to find, main button to “auto lock”.

First Retractable that I’ve had!
Never thought I’d own one of these but a new adopted dog must have! Perfect for safe areas where you can let the leash out up to 26 feet. Seems to be heavy duty and easy to hold on to. Not crazy about the color but it matches the collar that our adopted dog came with. Bag carrier is amazing to have, it just snaps on and all you have to do is make sure you refill when you are out of bags.

I thought I’d try the leash for a few months before writing a review. I walk a 80 lb dog with it. I like the extra length of the leash as well as the highly reflective strip on it. The locking mechanism works well as I’ve had to use it quickly when approached by other dogs or surprised hares. It can be a bit tricky to release the lock once engaged though. I’ve had no issues so far with the retraction mechanism. It was the reason I had to replace my last leash. The large handle is nice as it fits the warm leather gloves I use during winter walks.

Use this for my cat in large garden as we live on a main road. Sturdy, doesn’t get kinks or knots. Simple but effective lock feature for different lead lengths. Light weight. Can imagine the dog poo bags very handy for dog owners. Fantastic price, a third the price of most retractable leads but the quality just as good.
