Our Russian blue type cat had a number of mats along his spine that seemed to come out of nowhere.I tried brushing them and hand pulling them. He hated it. Turns out I was hurting him AND it wasn’t really working.Orders this on a whim. It worked great. Got the mats out and he was purring the whole time.15 bucks beats a visit to the vet or a groomer any day of the week. 10/10 would recommend for any sort of occasional clumping/matting of the hair.

Great for getting at the matting, A+
After trying various brushes, a few other combs and even trying to cut at our little girl’s matting with little success we gave this a try and finally found the answer. Other combs pulled too hard and she would not tolerate them, this one is easier on her and does the job. In the photo you can see how much came out over the course of a couple days of chipping away.And now it’s easy to keep up with her grooming.

Does Some De-shedding, Not Perfect Though
We bought this for our old cat who couldn’t self groom anymore and was getting mats in her hips. It didn’t help with the mats for her, but it does ok at getting a lot of hair out of our older dog who is a heavy shedder.

Great for long-haired cats.
My Maine Coon loved this brush. She jumped in my lap every time I got it out. It cleared the tangles. She was badly matted, and other combs and brushes couldn’t work. Previously I never brushed her, because she constantly kept her long, thick fur clean and fluffy. But when she got ill as a senior cat, I tried to help her. I couldn’t make progress until I tried this brush. It worked great. She had cancer and was dying, but still loved the brushing.
