Not All Nail Trimmers Are Alike
These trimmers are elite. I usually use the regular $10 clippers I see on amazon. They do the job and they’re affordable. I was hesitant to pay double the price for some trimmers that looked sort of gimmicky. However, my dog hates nail clippings so I decided to take a risk and buy these. THEY WORK SO WELL. Here’s why:1) They use a guillotine style cutter (super sharp blade). It’s legitimately like cutting butter. The clipper style ones are like a scissor so the pinch your pet’s nails. This can cause the nail to turn sharply before the cut, which causes pain and trauma to the dog. These clippers hold and slice the nail cleanly. You can be super precise and it’s quick and painless, leading to less movement from the dog.2) They have a magnifying glass and a light. This does actually help you see the quick if the dog has white nails, but even if your dog has black nails (like mine), you can see clearly how close you’re getting to the quick through the tip of the nail you just cut. The light and magnifying glass really let you get precise (especially when paired with the super sharp blade).3) The magnifying glass doubles as a nail catch. This means no more searching the floor for nail trimmings. Not essential, but definitely a cherry on top.I’m excited for my dog’s nails to grow back so that I can cut them again! Seriously, this is a game changer.p.s. It’s never too late to trim your dog’s nails. If your dog’s nails and quicks are super long, just trim every week little by little. The quicks will wear down as your dog walks and you can trim more and more over time. These trimmers make it ridiculously easy.

    Amazing!
Definitely a purchase I am not mad about due to the price! My dogs HATE the electrical filer. Maybe it’s the vibration and sound it made but my dogs never let me file the nails. It was such a hassle. But with this nail clipper both my dogs let me with little to no squirming! I love that it has a guard for the nail clippings but tbh it doesn’t really stay closed so be careful and keep watch of the clippings!!

Pretty useless and traumatizing to my cat
I thought this would be a great replacement for the old reliable clippers I’ve used for years and misplaced. I was SO wrong. The product itself is made of cheap plastic and is hard to hold especially with a squirmy cat.Does not work upside down which is the only way I can clip my boys’ nails, they do not like to on their backs or held for nail clipping. The batteries for the lights arrived dead and had to be replaced and when I finally used them in my cat, the apparently already dull blade after NO USES or the terrible engineering of the device shredded my poor cats nails and the splintered remains got stuck in the blade instead of the useless guard.I got three nails done before my cat bit me. Look he hates having his nails trimmed but he NEVER bites and he was visibly flinching from the sound so I can only imagine what kind of pain this thing put him through. Not even bothering to return it, I’m pitching it directly in the trash and will go try to find simple old reliable replacement instead.

    Cuts well, lights sometimes work
I wanted this nail clipper to use on my wiggly and fearful Beagle’s nails. I have tried literally half a dozen nail clippers, and no one clipper has everything, but clean cutting is a must. This clipper has a “guillotine” blade, which means it doesn’t squeeze the nail as much as a bypass blade. It also doesn’t make a big CLICK noise like a bypass blade, which can frighten a skittish pet. That’s a win.So it DOES cut well, but the lights work only when they want to. I even replaced the batteries ($9!!!) and they are sketchy still. Also I haven’t figured out how the cover magnifies the nail in a convenient way. You have to look at the nail from the side, which you can do, but then you lose track of the blade that way. I’ll keep working with it to see if I like it any better.

Never felt comfortable using on my cats nails.
I think the concept is great and the lighted feature is a plus certainly, but in order for the light to be behind the nail so you can see the quick it ends up flashing in your face so it’s difficult to look at. The Magnifier is a great concept too, but I just had trouble seeing what I was doing, if that makes any sense? there were too many contraptions in the way between the light and the magnifier. Most importantly, I felt that the blade was very intimidating and it was very difficult to measure exactly where to cut because , the blade itself is thick and it has a divot in it. I had a hard time how far to put the nail into the device before I cut it. All together, it was just way too complicated and cumbersome and I just didn’t feel like All the extras were helping me To make a safe cut. However, I gave the clippers to my niece who used it on Her dog and she absolutely loves it. For her it was easier to see the nail than I could see on my cat. the larger caliber of nail in that species makes sense for these clippers. It does come with an extra blade so you can change it after the first one gets dull So that is nice.It could entirely be just me. I wanted every possible advantage to trimming my cats nails safely, and I just decided to go back to basics with the regular nail trimmer. I feel that I can see what I’m doing much more easily with the basic tool. So, it seems that these are perhaps good for dogs, but maybe less so for cats?

    Awesome!
So far, these work really great! They are the best dog nail clippers I have ever got. I have only used them one time, but they clip great. And they did come with an extra blade.

Excelente material tanto en la pinza como en las navajas, y trae repuesto que es lo mejor de todo. Corta facilísimo y sin hacer gran fuerza. Definitivamente quedé muy contento con mi compra.

This initial review is based on my first attempt at these clippers. I had high hopes to use a fresh, new pair of guillotine clippers on my Frenchie, as our old clippers got dull. With that being said, the blade is VERY DULL on these. It kept snagging her nail and shredding it a bit. Our other clippers didn’t do this. I had to use my dremel to file the snagged bits down afterwards :(I followed the instructions (or at least I think I did… I also watched a YouTube video) and yet, the magnifine area is impossible to see-through, so I’m confused why others say it works so well? The magnified area in the clear plastic cap is obscure and blurry and you can’t actually see how much of the dogs nail is in the guillotine… which does not instill confidence in me and resulted in a bad experience for my French Bulldog who normally is okay with clippings, but not these clippers. I even tried cutting her nails with the cap flipped up. Didn’t matter, blade is dull.Overall, a fail and $31.00 down the drain and can’t be returned because they come packaged in a hard plastic sealed clamshell package that requires scissors to open.I will give it another go and update this review once I watch another video perhaps, but these are junk so far. The light is honestly a gimmick and didn’t help much as it should light UNDER the nail and not straight-on where you’re trying to work.
