Perfect to save my leashes
It is light weight, and easy to use. I use the retractable leashes out back so the dogs have a bit of space away from each other to potty, and a new foster almost chewed through the nylon and it had to be thrown away. This is a perfect solution, and much more durable.

These extenders are much better quality than the one that came with my retractable leash. I already learned that my small Boston terrier can chew through a leash faster than I ever imagined. Even if he chews through these eventually, it will be much cheaper to replace these.

A must-have for aggressive chewers
I bought this two pack and the large tug retractable leash for my 37 lb mini golden doodle. The leash I bought came with one chew guard, but I find a second one is needed. I like using two because two leashes make a good size leash when the main leash is fully retracted. Also, my dog often (daily) bites the 2nd chew protector. She bites the leash whenever she wants to tell me she isnât happy with how I am conducting our walk. I also like to tie a knot in the poop bag and hang the bag where the 2nd chew protector meets the leash. When my dog runs ahead, the poop bag goes along behind her. Very happy with the chew guards so far.

Great add-on for a pup who likes to “walk” themselves
I bought the Tug retractable leash and it came with one of these little extension pieces. It’s was a nice surprise especially since my dog likes to pick up the leash in his mouth and “walk” himself… and you guessed it yes he eventually chewed through it! So it’s great to pick up 2 additional pieces and not have to buy a whole new leash

Previous leash extenders were wider and thicker. As a result they lasted longer. The metallic clips on these newer extenders come off faster hence the need for separate replacements.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this product. I just bought it to give a barrier between the very expensive dog lead, and the very bity teething puppy. And for that it works brilliantly. He’s still on his first attachment, despite trying quite hard to chew it at first. His lead remains undamaged. He’s clearly miffed that he can’t chew it easily, because he’s completely stopped trying! Would absolutely recommend this for puppy owners.
