While pregnant with our first baby my wife set out to design a beautiful nursery, as all mothers would love to do. Bedside Sleepers are typically not pretty to look at, and they cannot beat the look of a beautifully carved wooden crib in baby’s room. We chose to go this route, and the few months of frustration led to the engineer in me searching for better alternatives.

Wooden cribs may be pretty, but they are also heavy and big, and impossible to move around the house as needed. A wooden crib also restricts baby’s nighttime sleep area to the nursery, even though it is safer and more convenient to have your small baby close-by at night. By having your baby in a moveable cot that you can move around where needed, your baby has a safe and familiar sleep environment anywhere in the house, or even when you go on holiday.

When babies get older and more mobile they can bump or fall against the hard wooden frames. To prevent this, parents stack bedding and bumper pillows, but this increases the risk for sudden infant death syndrome. Bedside Sleepers are made from mesh material and are a lot softer.

We set out to find a baby bed that is affordable, easy-to-use, safe and stylish. You will be glad that you can simply fold it away and keep it for a next child coming along.
