I should have bought a more sturdy one, but this one will do the job. It cuts, boy does it cut ! The guard is a little flimsy and not totally firm, which can lead to miscalculation and cause bleeding. Other than that is a good tool.

I am a veterinary technician. I have to trim cats and dogs nails as part of my job. The company I work for provides nail trimmers for dogs and cats but I didnât like the ones they had for cats. I ordered these and love them. They even work on dogs. They donât make that clicking noise that sets off the dogs. They are sharp, durable and easy to carry. They work so well my co-workers would borrow them when they had to trim nails. Iâve bought many pairs as gifts for them and they all appreciate having their own pairs. Iâve used mine for over 2 years and they are still working well.

Clippers were very dull – I would not recommend this product.
I am updating my review and changing the rating from 1 star to 3. We purchased another highly rated clipper from Amazon and they too failed to cut our dogs nails. I’m starting to think his nails are made of titanium and maybe the problem is not the clipper. I still am not recommending this product, but I suggest giving more weight to other reviews.Pros:- Handle is ergonomic and has a good feel- Comes with a nail fileCons:- Clippers are extremely dull. They tore instead of cutting our Dutch Shepherd’s nails. My wife did one nail, which didn’t go well as it tore, and then she tried it on a second nail and was having to apply way too much pressure so we went back to our old clippers to finish the job.I bought this particular cutter because it had good ratings and reviews. Maybe we just got a lemon. I returned this product and would not recommend it.

I decided to purchase these as one of my dogs have a little melt down when the vets or groomers try to clip their nails. I decided to go ahead a buy these and give it a go.My dog is so much more trusting in me clipper their nails and keeping their nails in a good healthy length. Good quality and only took a couple minutes to do. Overall its a much faster and easier process now.Cheap and good quality. Worked well even on the thicker nails. Highly impressed.If you are unsure always seek advise first but overall great buy definitely worth the purchase.
