If you are debating on whether to get this or not for your furry kids, let us help you and say… try it!
It is the BEST thing ever. Our baby has been getting his nails professionally done for 12 years. When he was 2 yrs old I accidentally clipped too much of one nail and he bled, I was devastated that I hurt him. Ever since then, I have been traumatized to clip his nails myself. Perhaps this has happened to some of you parents out there too!
So, we have now moved to a different state and have had the hardest time finding a truly loving & caring Manicurist for his “mani & pedi”. It’s been ridiculous! After watching our regular Manicurist for many years, I said, “You know what! I am going to get an electric nail trimmer and try it! What’s there to lose?!”.
Received it, and I have to say, I was super intimidated by the whole thing, the noise, the speed, how to hold it, angle it, etc.. I was nervous when first trying it. I followed the tips, let my baby smell it, turn it on for him to hear the noise and get used to it (he is very cool noises already), I pretended to trim his nails by touching them with the side that didn’t have the trimmer going and say “Perfect! Good boy!” … He was very cool about it, I am sure I was the only one that was nervous.
I started with one nail as my heart raced and left it on for a few seconds, took it away and said, “Everything is okay, I can do this!” I went in again on the other side of the nail, I did this to a few nails, took a few breaths between to stay calm and honestly, it took me a few minutes to get the hang of it, but once I did, it was FABULOUS!
I promise, once you do get the hang of it, of how to hold it, angle it, how much it trims and how fast it grinds, the noise, the smell, and how your touch affects it, you become more confident and it becomes very easy.
By the time I was on his 4th paw, I was rocking it, my angling was wonderful and his nails were looking wonderful! I did every nail little by little, I even went back once I felt more comfortable, I did them all a few times to get them as short as possible. I keep the protector on it and use it that way to this day and on the lowest speed, I only keep it on each nail a few seconds at a time, it grinds fast, which I can control by checking every few seconds and I am no longer scared to trim his nails myself! I was so happy and felt so thankful that I gave it a try!
We couldn’t be any more happier. Not only can I trim his nails at anytime I want, wherever I want, but it is also saving us $15 usd, each time I do! 🙂
The device itself is very nice and so far seems very durable. It’s fantastic that you can charge it and easy to clean. I do recommend that you clip any little hairs your baby has prior to using it that may go over his nails so that you do not hurt them!
Mommy is now his (VERY loving & caring) personal Manicurist for ever!! 🙂

Great Purchase
I had a previous Dremel device that I loved but stopped working and I found this device with great reviews. I used it on my dog yesterday and it WORKED GREAT.
I left it charging for a couple of hrs (maybe 3 or 4)
My dog was not bothered by the noise, easy to use, the cap helped a lot to keep the nail steady.

Very quiet and works
I’m shocked by how quiet this thing is. Dog still doesn’t like it much but she’s getting more used to it. Works fine on her nails, she’s a 35 lb medium size Catahoula mix. The head is smaller than expected and took a bit to figure out which direction would work best for her. I really can’t see this thing working for a larger heavier dog with big or thick nails. For example, I’ve seen plenty of bull dog breeds with very thick nails they would not fit in any of the slots this has for the nail. I had a large retired racing greyhound and this would not have worked for him either. 40lbs or under is a good fit.

Purchased this hoping it would make nail trims easier and was definitely not disappointed. Our chihuahua was a major screamer during nail trims, you would swear someone was killing him before the clippers even touched his toes ð used this on him for the first time coupled with some treats (he would ignore treats completely with normal cutters) and he was yawning in relaxation during the whole sessionð Iâve never seen him so calm during a nail trim and I was able to get his nails down nice and short with no cut kwiks or traumatizing ear piercing screams ðð would definitely recommend if you have a dog that normally hates nail cutting time! Battery lasted a long time (I had already used it a few times on the bigger dogs) before I had to recharge and the build is solid and easy to use/maneuver ð

This grinder is so very quiet. My little dog, while still unsure, “likes” it a lot more than clippers. I will take my time and do a paw at a time, taking only the tips off so that he gets used to it. I am very happy with the purchase and recommend it.

It took me a while to really use this, mostly because dog and cats were a bit put off by the hum and vibration at first. The battery life on this thing is insanely good. I mean, I went months and it still had charge. I use it for a good 20 minutes bi-weekly and still have lots of charge, with 4 cats and 1 dog, it can work on all of them… If they let you.
My dog has really thick nails and this still manages to trim his nicely. I can Dremel pretty close to the quick and he isn’t hurt. The noise is fairly quiet, however, they do notice it, if you have anxious cats, expect them to fight you until they realise there is no pain.
This is a great value for the money. Remember to fully charge before use and don’t leave it on charger overnight/past the full charge indicator… I’ve had it for what feels like a year and zero issues. It also has been dropped a few times and no damage.
100% recommend to anyone looking for a Dremel for nail grooming!

best gadget for filing my dogs nails. usually have to put her in a hammock and fight with her to clip her nails. with this gadget she just sat on the table and let me file all her nails. unbelievably easy, effective, affordable and less stress for dog and owner. highly recommend
