We use this to exercise our cat prior to bedtime. She loves it and so do we!

My kitty loves these.
I have one in every room, so playtime can be spontaneous wherever we are. So far my kitty has remained amused.. he loves to hunt.. but it does require cat parent time, patience and animal cunning. I find it is also useful as a directional and distraction tool…the little red dot, or the smiley face or one of the other patterns, easily and quickly distracts from naughty behavior.. and then leads my cat to a more preferable options. all without angry words, shouting other negative parent behaviors. .. or helps him find ‘hidden ‘ treats.
The others I have are solid silver stainless, I like these with the black casing and white paw print.. I don’t know why, but these feel more comfortable to hold ..which is important as one can end up holding these a long time with a playful cat..
Otherwise, they work like other lazer toys of this type, with multiple patterns .. this one has a scroll rather than a twist to change..the scroll is easier to use with one hand.. every thing else much the same..
Overpriced if you buy one, good value to buy 2 for $12. And always have at least one charged while the other one is charging.. I like these as there is no messy and loose-able cable, just remove the end cap and pop into a usb (A). port. Takes about 1.5 hours to charge. ..
These also serve triple duty, cat toy/director, a useful and lightweight flashlight, when fully charged, bright enough to use during a black out..in the car.. or outside.. the purple mode is supposed to alert one to counterfeit money, which I have so far not discovered.. but it did locate several otherwise invisible and surprising ‘stains’ on the carpet.. though no idea what the stains are as the cat doesn’t go into that room..or so I thought. Apparently can also use as a pointer for presentations.. altogether a very useful little item.

Safety first – don’t point the laser in any eyes, pet or otherwise. I’d think twice about allowing kids to use this – particularly unsupervised.
Requested a 2 pack of these and so far so good. First let me review usage of the unit.
These lights are rechargeable. The light has a removable cover on the end with the lanyard. To charge simply remove the cover and plug the light into an available USB slot. Towards the charging port end there’s a small light which will show blue while charging and it turns off when fully charged. Once fully charged unplug then replace the cover. That’s it.
The switch on the unit has 4 positions. Off, laser pointer, UV light and flashlight. I consider the UV light and flashlight to be tools. The laser pointer is a toy.
In toy mode the laser allows various patterns to be selected by rotating a selector on the side of the unit. For the most part when I use this I use the dot pattern. But maybe some cats have a pattern preference. The laser has plenty of power to project either a dot, or pattern, across a large room. In regular room light there shouldn’t be any problems.
The first tool provided is a UV flashlight. This is best used in a dimly lit room (or at night). The UV light isn’t super bright but it does the job. UV can detect ‘fun’ things like vomit or pee where it shouldn’t be. In fact UV can detect these things even when there is no obvious evidence using normal light. For someone having issues this can be very handy.
The second tool provided is a flashlight. Like the UV light the flashlight isn’t super bright but it also does the job.
Keep in mind the toy part of this should be used with other fun things because cats will never catch the laser image. Part of ‘hunting’ is the satisfaction of the ‘kill’. Used as part of an overall cat entertainment plan this is a fun product for all.
