Worked great with our long haired minuture dauschand pups. Size was good n makes a good starter brush to ease pups into getting use to being combed.

very very handy for combing my 10-pound dog
I have a 10-pound rescue dog which is supposedly a Maltese. In the fall I stop cutting her fur and let her grow out til May. I comb her every night during those months. I start with a 7″ metal comb, but this double-sided comb is what I turn to if I encounter any snarls or tangles. With the double-sided comb, I can zero in on the area of the snarl, tease it out with the wide-tooth side, then finish up with the other side to make sure all of the snarl is gone. I can also use the fine-tooth side on her face to carefully comb away any “eye crud”. At the risk of grossing you out, I will add that sometimes she gets little bits of dried poop on her rear end, and this comb is excellent for that work too. I like this comb so much, and it is so handy, that I have one in the Family Room where I comb her every night, one near the laundry tub in case I need to tackle a problem right before bath time, and one on my nightstand which is handy for our early morning “greet and comb and brush and cuddle and start the day right” time. And one at my desk, which is where I clip her nails. Highly recommended.

I bought this to work “food, drool, and debris” from my Westie’s beard. I had been trying to use a slicker brush which was just too big and too unwieldy for the area around his mouth. This tool works well. I use the larger comb first to get out any big clump or tangles then go through with the finer comb. The grip is comfortable and fits well in my small hand. (It’s only about 4.75″ long.) I also like that the ends of the teeth are round, not pointed. That makes me feel a little better on the days when the Westie doesn’t want to sit still.

I figured that this brush would be small, but it was way to small to use. I ended up returning it. Perhaps it might have worked on the face area of toy breeds, but it wasn’t working for us.
