Honestly THE BEST to-go mugs in the world
I have owned Contigo travel mugs for YEARS and they are hands down the best travel mugs out there. I know the rave now is Stanley and Yeti mugs but not a chance. Contigo beats both of them by price point, leak proof-ness, heat containment and style. They fit into nearly all universal vehicle mug holders and backpack pockets. I have only found their 24oz (which is HUGE AND AWESOME) to be sometimes too tall to fit into certain backpacks or mug holders that have a head clearance. I have poured a hot cup o’ joe in the morning and HOURS later it’s still hot. I have dropped mine and dented them and they still retain heat and are spillproof. Also, I am a stickler with making sure something is easy to clean. A lot of these mugs now days have fancy lids that gunk up and are impossible to clean which leads to gross goo build-up. Barf. These lids are dishwasher safe. I pop them so the open position and lay on top rack. I will continue to purchase these specific mugs as long as they make them. If not, I’ve built up a stash to last me a long time. I have several in my camping bin as they are so easy to handle, clean, and hold onto heat. Forget that flashy expensive (look at me and my Yeti on Insta! Barf….) here today gone tomorrow fad crap and buy something bomb proof like these mugs. You won’t regret it

The BEST for hot coffee lovers! And here’s why…
I now own 5 of these. Yes, a little OCD, but they have earned my compulsive loyalty to accompany my caffeine addiction.PROS:1) IT DOES NOT LEAK. I can confidently throw this into my purse or gym bag upside down or sideways, and there will not be even a drop that comes out. (Sure, if you’re determine to make if fail, you can. Screw the top on properly, okay? It’s an amazing feat of engineering–not magic.)2) It’s easy to drink from. Just press in the handy button on the cap, which is solid (to keep it leak-proof), but doesn’t require a lot of pressure. I don’t have arthritis, but I would guess that it would be accessible even for someone who does. And the way the button is positioned, it’s natural to how you hold the mug. You don’t have to unscrew any lids or unsnap a flip top.3) It keeps drinks hot. I use mine for hot coffee, so I can’t comment on how well it does for cold drinks. I’m not sure that it lives up to the 7-hour claim, but it keeps it hot for probably 4 hours, and reasonably warm for a number hours after that.4) It holds 20 ounces. I love the Zojirushi SM-KHE48AG Stainless Steel Mug, 16-Ounce, Smoky Blue and all things Zojirush–but it’s only 16 ounces. If you’re like me and–if you’re without your own mug–order your coffee by “whatever size you have that’s closest to 5 gallons”, that extra 4 ounces is a bigger deal than just 4 ounces. I do see however that Zojirushi now has a 20 ounce Zojirushi SM-SA60-BA Stainless Steel Mug, 20-Ounce, Black so I’ll be checking that out–but note that it’s 50% more expensive.5) Dishwasher safe. I do not have time for the prima donna mugs that require hand washing.CONS:Note that I do not consider any of these significant enough to deduct a star.1) While the Contigo stainless travel mug does a serviceable job of keeping hot beverages hot, it falls a little short of Contigo’s claims.2) The innards of the lid are not fully accessible for cleaning. I have a few versions of this mug, and the lids on the newer ones are now designed to easily pull out so more of that inner part is exposed when in the dishwasher, and I have never had any problem with anything gunky or science-experiment-like showing up. But the above-referenced Zojirushi does have a better-engineered lid for exposing every part for cleaning. I periodically soak my Contigo lids in a combo of hot water, dish soap & citric acid, and that seems to get any small amounts of coffee gunk out.For the price and what it offers, the Contigo Autoseal stainless travel mug is the best on the market. Get one (or five)!

Stays leak free, even when it falls off the bed cover of a Ram Rebel!!
We have had this cup for many years. It never leaks, and keeps coffee hot. It’s easy to clean too. It is seriously durable! Yesterday I put my husband’s coffee on the top of the bed cover on his truck. That way he doesn’t leave it on the kitchen counter. But yesterday he was carrying something extra, so he couldn’t pick it up till he put the stuff in the back seat, so he forgot the coffee. He drove out of the garage and left for work. I found it at the bottom of the driveway. The little bottom metal piece popped off, and there are some gouges on the plastic lid, but absolutely no leaking! Husband had already jammed the piece back in the bottom before I took the photos. Ordered a new one right away. Definitely worth the money!!

Never spills and the coffee I put into it tastes great coming out of it ; – )
Never spills. Easy to use. This thermos has the Autoseal lid. If you aren’t holding it open, it is closed and sealed. I have a couple of the earlier design that you click open and then click close. But admit it, we never click the thing shut again. So when it falls over or gets knocked off the table onto your wife’s boss’s wife’s white wool carpet, there’s a real good chance your coffee is just going to run out of there like an 8 year old at a soda pop festival. This guy leaves your had, it closes itself. I have had mine several montsh now and I drink too much coffee. I fill it 2 or 3 times every day. Yet I have never spilled a single drop of coffee from it. The lid threads on very nicely, never cross threading or failing to catch. The insulation is as good as any stainless steel thermos and the thing is sturdy. It has a nice feature in the lid. The mechanicsm to connect the thumb button to the actual valve includes a tab that allows the entire mechanism to fold up out of the lid. This brings up my one adviso on this item. When you press on the tab as suggested, the mechanism pops upward a bit, but not far. You should then grasp the central portion of the mechanism and draw it upwards gently, till the wee silicone piece that seal the drink opening is brought up and out. If you have cream or the like in your coffee, a build up of residue can take place around the base of that wee silicone piece. At the very least, clean that with a vigorous blast of water. Use some soap and a small brush if necessary. That is the reason for the one-star hit under “Easy to Clean”. Other than that, this product is perfect. Mine is plain brushed stainless and the finish is still perfect. It is also available in various colors and patterns. You can put the lid in the dishwasher but not the main body. That will hose the finish, so don’t do it. I would definitely buy this model again.

You cannot go wrong with this Contigo mug. Handsdown the best mug product out there for it’s volume. It keep liquids cool or hot. Great structure and integrity for no leaks, and the best feature is its easy cleaning since you can lift up the autoseal mechanism within the lid or head of the mug. Worth your money’s worth so never lose it!

I bought my first Contigo over a year ago for my Antartica trip. It kept my hot drinks hot for at least 12 hours. Then we did a trip through Chile where it was much warmer, it kept my iced coffee cold and ice intact. I don’t understand those reviews that said it leaked because if you followed the instruction and paid attention to safety valve, this never leaks. It is part of my tote bag on a daily basis and after a year, the seal is still brilliant.
