Great harness if your dog needs a little help!
I have a very old Jack Russell and she’s starting to have trouble getting up and down the stairs to our apartment. She’s also on seizure medication that makes her a little drunk, so even when she’s full of energy it’s a good idea for me to have a way to keep her from going ass-over-teakettle if she loses her balance on the stairs.The handle is very adjustable and the velcro hand grip slides with your dog’s orientation, so if they’re going down the stairs it slides back so that you aren’t trying to keep them level, same with them going up the stairs. I fed her leash through the hand grip so when my girl is looking for that perfect place to go, the handle isn’t dragging in the grass or tripping her.She seems pretty comfortable being fully lifted in the harness, it doesn’t choke her or try to center her weight on just one of the support bands.The carrying handle is clipped into the harness with 4 flat, quick release clips and can be completely detached in favor of the built-in handle, if your dog is tall enough or doesn’t require a leash.The collar support is a three flap velcro design that I was initially a little suspicious of but it allows for plenty of movement, is wide enough to not worry so much about choking and hasn’t come undone unexpectedly.I highly recommend this harness with the caveat that good body mechanics are necessary to keep from hurting yourself while carrying your dog, especially if they aren’t able to use their legs to offer support or balance.

The Best Helper Harness for My Dog
I chose this harness because it has features that were better suited to my elder statesdog’s needs than other helper harnesses. I needed something that would slow down 68 pounds of 15 year old golden retriever with no depth perception, to keep him steady while going down a ramp to exit the SUV. Like other harnesses, this one distributes weight across the chest, as well as lifting under the dog. The “handle” on top is positioned lengthwise, rather than crosswise, and the harness itself is longer, to provide more support underneath. This works better for us in distributing steady guidance across and further along the dog. There is a second, longer strap that you could, I guess, use to guide and lift your dog with the weight over your shoulder rather than using your hands. This might be do-able to carry a small dog kind of like a shoulder bag, but I can’t imagine using it this way with a large dog. The large size was a bit small for my dog, who has a deep chest. The XL fits with the buckles pulled as short as they get. There’s a big difference in hardware size between the large and the XL – the buckles on the XL are really big, but they don’t bother my dog. Please note: the manufacturer recommends you test the buckles by pulling on them to make sure they aren’t faulty – kind of disturbing, as a failure in one of the buckles could be catastrophic. PULL THE BUCKLES TO MAKE SURE THEY LATCH SECURELY BEFORE YOU PUT THIS ON YOUR DOG. That said, the harness seems fairly comfortable – it’s soft fabric. It arrived quickly, when we needed it, and it’s been a big help to us over the past few months.

Post TPLO Must Have
Purchased XL for 82 pound Doodle who just went through TPLO. Vet gave us the equivalent of a towel to use-had I known would have ordered this and been prepared. Arrived 2 days post surgery and has been a game changer. Easy to put on and remove. Velcro at top, buckles chest and back. Adjustable handles make it easy to lift rear end of dog if necessary while doing the short bathroom walks. We found it easier to keep leash on her collar vs on the harness. As soon as she comes out of the crate, we put the harness on, take her out and remove the harness before pup goes back in the crate. It’s going to be a long 6 weeks but I think this harness made life a whole lot easier. Worth every penny.

Rien ne va. Je ne sais pas pour quel type de morphologie ce serait adapté mais en tout cas court et trop large pour ma croisée boxer-staff. Les coutures sont hyper mal faites, fragiles à l’oeil nu. La matière se déforme. Les lanières se détendent. Les attaches sont de très mauvaise qualité et l’une d’elle se coince systématiquement. Je ne m’attendais pas à de la haute qualité mais il y a des limites ou il devrait y en avoir.
