I’ve been using this on my dog’s overgrown nails to slowly but surely shave away at them. It works great!I admit, I was a little freaked out when I first saw it spin up. It whirs up and looks like it would be overly powerful to be safe. This is not the case. When you see it spin up, even if it scares you a bit, run your thumbnail into it. The tip of your thumb will almost certainly touch the grinder. Surprisingly, it doesn’t hurt, and the contact you make with the grinder to your nail will do a very reasonably small amount of grinding. It is not as dangerous or fast acting as it appears.My dog is terrified of nail clippers and groomers. She’ll cry, yelp, soil herself, and it just breaks my heart! I’m too soft for this! Over time her nails have become so thick that dog nail grinders don’t do much. This is a perfect solution. I’m very grateful for this product and look forward to whenever I’m able to get her claws back into reasonable condition, which will probably be slowly over a year – but I’m glad I’ve finally found a solution.

this vase shape bit seems harder to handle for me versus a basic shape
Iâm between a three and a four star on this bit, but I gave it four stars. There are two things I didnât care for on this bit.1. The grit is not as course as my other one and doesnât take off quite as much nail as quickly. My dog doesnât have a whole lot of patience so this process needs to be a lot faster.2. I prefer a much larger wider concave portion on the bit. I can only imagine on a bigger dog with much thicker nails how the concave portion on this vase design would be too small.I was able to maneuver the bit around for shaping and using the very tip was able to grind away fragment pieces of nail carefully, however overall this vase shape is more than what I need and I donât care for it. Iâm going back to my basic concave shape.

I was hoping this grinder head would fit in my pet nail grinder. It does not. It does fit in my Dremel tool. It works better than the head that came with my pet nail grinder. I am happy with this grinder.

Not the best.
I had high hopes for this nail grinder bit to work amazingly well but I wasnât impressed. My mastiffâs nails are pretty thick and I usually use the regular sand paper tips that come with my tool. This bit did not work as well. I also didnât like the grooves in it, maybe because her nails are so thick, but it was tough to get a good angel. I prefer the flat, even ones. This tip does the job eventually, but I found that the sandpaper ones worked quicker.

I used to use a standard sanding attachment for trimming my dog’s nails, but it was messy and time-consuming. Her nails are thick and black, so I was uncomfortable using a cutting tool. I purchased this nail grinder because the traditional grinding method was too slow and made her nails hot. This product is a game changer! Trimming her nails now takes no time at all, creates less mess, and when she sees the nail grinder, she eagerly lies down, excited to have her nails done. It works incredibly well!
