Highly Impressed with This Quality Car Seat Cover
Upon opening the package, I could immediately tell this was a high quality product. The cover is midweight, with a durable outer waterproof material and a rubber-like non-slip underside that keeps it firmly in place on the seat.
The straps that secure the cover around the backseat headrests are thick, with sturdy buckles that don’t feel flimsy or prone to stretching over time. I’ve had covers in the past with thin straps that stretched and caused constant shifting, but that is not the case with the Lehni cover. My dog was in and out of the car multiple times today, and the cover stayed perfectly in place.
For reference, I drive a 2012 Toyota RAV4 with three rear seatbelts. The cover has thoughtful features like velcro slots for each seatbelt buckle, making them easy to access without having to dig under the cover. The outer edges also have slits with velcro, so when seatbelts on the left or right are in use, the cover remains tucked and flat,no awkward folding or lifting. I included photos to highlight these great details.
Another standout feature is the built-in plastic anchors that tuck between the seats for added stability. This small addition makes a big difference in keeping the cover secure. Plus, the middle zippers and flap accommodate my fold-down armrest seamlessly. It’s clear that a lot of thought went into making this cover versatile and functional.
As someone with kids and a dog, I appreciate that the cover allows access to the seatbelts, buckles, and armrest without needing to remove it constantly. It’s practical enough to stay on permanently if desired.
I haven’t tested its liquid resistance yet, but the material feels sturdy and is easy to spot clean or wipe down. If I encounter any issues with waterproofing or scratch resistance, I’ll update this review. One thing to note: the pet seatbelt included with the cover didn’t lock into my seatbelt buckle, so I couldn’t use it. However, this wasn’t a deal breaker for me since I already have a seatbelt for my dog that attaches to the tether anchor.
For now, I am extremely impressed with the quality, attention to detail, and thoughtful design of the Lehni Dog Car Seat Cover. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a durable, well-made solution for protecting their backseat!
