Chewie Trusts this Clipper
Update: I purchased this trimmer one year ago and have used it religiously to trim Chewie’s paw pads and keep them neat and tidy. I still have not had to replace the battery! I’m not just using this for paw pads, I’m now comfortable enough with this trimmer to use it to clean up the area around the nose/eyes. If you keep a firm but gentle hold around your dogs muzzle, (and repeatedly say the words, “beef jerky… Beef jerky…” you’ll be able to carefully trim the fur that grows up towards your dogs eyes. I hold the muzzle with one hand, and the clipper in the other. I hold the clipper upside down, facing away from Chewie’s face. Then I trim starting between his eyes and going down each side, (-like an update down “v” if that makes sense.)I also use this to do sanitation trims.After one year, I’m recommending this product even more than every, and upgrading my review from 4 🌟 to5 🌟. It works well, it’s long lasting, its safe when used with care, AND you can purchase new replacement blades for it.The Cons: This clipper has a very, very limited user guide, printed on one side of a small piece of paper. All you will glean from reading this “instruction manual” is the names of the three parts that come in the box (the clipper unit, the blade guide, the cleaning brush), and how to insert 2 AA batteries into the clipper. That is the whole thing, so please know what you are getting before you purchase the Ruri-BL001 clipper. If you think that this is a clipper that can be used for a full body clip, or to do work on dense coats, you will want to look at other products, because this is not going to fulfill your expectations.Now that I have the cons out of the way, I will happily get to the pro’s of this device. First of all, please note in my photo that Chewie is pretty darned unconcerned with this clipper being so close to him. I had to move the clipper away from his little nose because I had it running when I took that shot. The clipper has a very non-threatening, low-volume hum to it. It doesn’t aggravate me, and after a few goes with it, Chewie clearly couldn’t care less, either! A definite plus! Chewie gives me a horrified look when I use a hairdryer on him, so this attitude toward the clipper really proves that (for him,) the noise is not a stressor. Since I’ve used the clipper on him about 3 or 4 times, he also knows at this point that the clipper is not associated with anything that he should fear. Each time I introduced him to the clipper, we only did a couple minutes work on the underside of ONE paw, and than ended the session with a lot of praise and treats.The clipper comes with one attachment guide. I have another con regarding that clip-on guide comb: it is not easy to get on and off. This is why I am showing you the guide when it is NOT attached to the clipper blade. The guide has a lever that you push up or down to cause the guide to lengthen and shorten. This is really helpful to use if your pup (and you) are a little timid about accidentally hurting a paw or area around the face.I bought these clippers to clip the fur between Chewie’s paw pads. I want to stress that you really need to be sure that you have carefully snipped any matts or tangles off your dog before you attempt this. Failure to do so will result in the clipper not performing well, and it will dull the blades. I very carefully trimmed away any matts and tangles from Chewie’s underpaws with a pair of small, round tip scissors, first. Than I gently held the paw pads slightly apart and coaxed out any small tufts of fur that were wedged into the sides outward so that I could run over them with the clipper. If you do this little bit by little bit, you’ll get the job done with good results. If you try to power your way through it, you may be disappointed.I will not use these clippers near Chewie’s face, as I prefer to use round-tip safety scissors.It should also be said that I have not had to recharge this unit since installing the first set of batteries. The cordless aspect of them truly eases the difficulty of having to do delicate work with a cord getting in your way.To sum up:Despite the drawbacks I mentioned, I am still giving this product a rating of 4-stars. I am only knocking off one star because I believe that more documentation should be given for novice groomers who are still in that timid stage, afraid of hurting their pet.

im old school. i paid 28 dollars because all shavers were gone. i believe in truth and respect. i say it on all my reviews, i always go out of my way and bend my neck and mess up my eyes with bluelight to look at the screen for you. i never like to praise a company that backstabs me. surviveware body wipes did the same thing raised there prices from 6 to 10 dollars.july 3 18.89 no extra shave headfeb 27 16.89 no extra shave headjun 6 26.89i had to buy 3 because first one went, second is not that strong. now am on my fourth. so is this a good product only in emergencies because the more you use it the shaver will weaken.my belief, if your gonna price hike your products let me know why. if you wrote a summary stating “hey guys sorry about the jump in price but its to pay our american workers” i would respect that and buy 3 more if need be. but if its because Well its a crisis so let me get the extra money. because theres no shavers at petco and people are desperate and these good reviews will help people buy them. people count on reviews to help them make their decisions, i do it all the time, i feel horrible to show my appreciation to a company and have people like my review and if they make a decision based on my review then for them not to have what i described and not have a good experience like i did, i feel bad. im a different and dying breed of people that are kind and honest and not looking to see how to use people, thinking what can i get out of this person today.i was worried it would nip my dog so i put my finger on it and moved it side to side, it didnt cut me or pinch, and damn for a little ass razor lenght and width it shaved so fast and smooth. i wanted to get this bc incase of a emergency or outage and your dog need a trim to keep their feet healthy or to shave the hair to heal a cut or a injury. i bought a beard shaver wahl clipper battery operated on amazon too for my dogs. bc im psycho. great for travel and for injuries to remove the fur. happy they have this with batteries. it did a crazy good job on my dogs paws she was less upset with this then my big dog groomer blue wahl shaver. this will be in my dogs travel luggage. very happy.update so i have a mix poodle/biscon that hates me touching near her eyes to clean them, i am lazy on cleaning her eyes bc her hair kinks up the eye goo compared to my beagle/mix where she has stiaght hair so i can clean her eyes ith a tissue,so my poodle had build up, a lot of it and caked in, there is no way to wet it and use a tissue, i know this razor is safe bc i put my finger on it and moved it to see if it will cut me it didnt. but i have a wild dog, that moves or tries to ecsape what im doing, so i addedthe black razor protector, for extra protection to not hurt my dogs eyes. so i knew by doing this it with be “harder” or difficult to cut the hair bc the protector is in the way. nope it went through her cake eye hair within a minute,i will buy this agian i am so happy, bc i wanted this for my dog eyes first not her paws, i was too scared to try it but her eyes were really bad so i tried it and it was so amazing, its skinny, theirs extra protection, even with it on with hardcore cake dog eye goo in the hair, it went so smooth , plus its quiet compared to my other equipment. so happy yes!

The product is next to useless on our cockapoo and lasahapso.Just get a professional one.
